What is so ridiculous about trading both for a superstar caliber player?
The fact George could, and most likely will join the Lakers for free in 12 months any way

That's the way it looks now, but i would definitely trade two very replaceable role players who may not even mesh with the new make up of the team for Paul George. There really is no guarantee that happens either. The trade also gives the lakers more flexibility to adjust the roster. If they are able to offer PG a max next year, this trade could help them pick up another quality player too. The lakers should take a good deal when they can get it. The future is never guaranteed. The fact George could, and most likely will join the Lakers for free in 12 months any way

George is a choker... He never makes many clutch shots at crunch time.
All I'm saying is you get your guy guaranteed, with extra cap space to further improve the roster. You act like PG going to the lakers is a sure thing, but it isn't. Things change. The Lakers shouldn't give up Ball for PG, which is who the pacers really want, but getting PG for the price mentioned is called trade r*pe. You do it if you can swing it. Clarkson and Randle are nice role players, but this gives you a chance to pick the players playing next to PG, Ball, and Lopez. Plus you get PG another year to acclimate to the LA style of basketball, which is much bigger than it seems. It would be in the best interest of the lakers to make the playoffs and do well to help attract FAs. If LA is a dumpster fire again this year without PG, the man could lose interest and go to an actual established good team. This trade could be the difference of two superstars signing with LA and none signing again. Why risk it though? You call Clarkson and Randle replaceable but you seem to forget they both combined have 4 years of NBA experience. They're young, athletic and talented. Why give them away for someone who, although not guaranteed, will very likely join the team eventually anyway?
With Mosgov gone, they can offer PG a max this year and another max contract to someone else next year.
Im with ya........George is gonna need a LOT of help around him for the lakers to become serious challengers.......
No team other than GS or SA are going to be contenders for a while. It's not going to hurt by turning from a 26 win team to a (hopefully) 40 win team.

Youre prob right, New Orleans should be so much better than they are
I'll bet a deal gets done. You don't form a business strategy based off of rumors like the one you're basing yours off of.Right now there are two options:
1. Let the Lakers set the terms on a trade deal. If the Pacers decline, they'll risk getting nothing in return. The longer the Pacers hold out, the less they'll get.
2. Let the Lakers wait for free agency to try to lure PG
Nothing is guaranteed. But I like the odds.

I bet one gets done too. For ONE player and two late draft picks.
Well the same thing with any good player. They all need "a LOT of help around them to become serious challengers".Im with ya........George is gonna need a LOT of help around him for the lakers to become serious challengers.......
Interesting buzz here
Porzingas and the Knicks 1st rounder next season
to Sacramento for the #5 and #10 picks
Giving the Knicks the #5, 8 and 10
Big time.Sacramento would win that trade imo

I agree, IMO that is the best the Pacers can hope for.I bet one gets done too. For ONE player and two late draft picks.
Never trust a man with two first names.
