It's really weird at this point . There are at a minimum 7-10 teams with worse STARTERS than Kaepernick yet he can't get a job as a backup? Even if you think he's a headache ( which there's no proof of ) you'd think pure value would get him signed somewhere

The Seahawks looked like Kaps best chance to find a team until the Hawks decided to go with a slightly better version than a living scarecrow and signed Austin Davis instead. Yup, Austin Davis over Kaepernick.

LOL @ football-ret**ded Kaepernick.

If you owned a small business and interviewed an applicant known for mediocrity, playing the race card, and publically insulting law enforcement at every turn for no reason, would you hire them? Kaepernick and his bs newfound afro he suddendly decided to grow when he was all but finished in 2016 can gtfo, and take his clearly ingorant and gimmicky "BLM" disrespect of the national anthem with him.

I'd be pissed if the Vikings even brought this douchebag in for a tryout as a PR stunt... the clown is barely skilled enough to work at Burger King while fucking up my order by putting onions on my burger when I clearly stated "no onions" and verified it on their drive-through order screen.

There are a lot of arguments: He needs the right system, he is asking too much etc. But as posted when you see some of the horrible QBs still getting checks it certainly appears as if he is being black balled. I was never a fan of his protest, and I fucking hated the pig socks. But this is certainly unfair IMO and it may force me to root for the asshole.

At the end of the day, the NFL is business, and Kaep's disprecpecting the anthem horse crap in 2016 cost the league a ton of viewership and money. His bs played a big role in the huge decrease in NFL viewership in 2016, costing the entire league good money. Combine that with his need for a system specifically tailored to his limited skill set (as you mentioned in your post), his general medocrity since his first year and half when defenses figured out the read option gimmick, and other horse shit like the police-pig socks - and you really think this asshole deserves another shot in the NFL?

He's a middle-tier 2nd string QB at best, with more baggage than Terrell Owens even ever had. Let's not forget that his bs "BLM" gimmicks were done in San Fran, probably the most accepting market of that type of crap, yet they still let him walk. That automatically rules out the fan bases of like 25/32 of the teams in the league putting up with him right there. Tough to find a job given that and the fact that he simply sucks.

Kaep was within his rights to protest, and it's within the owner's rights to be pissed off about it. They aren't required to offer him a job on their team. If the owner's think there might be a public backlash over hiring the guy then why would they want that headache? And it's not like he was playing at his 2012-2014 levels either. His last two seasons weren't great. He literally got benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert which is pretty bad.

The lesson here is that if you want to be a lightning rod for countrywide controversy then you better be talented enough to hang on to your job. Mediocre players who rock the boat appear to be expendable.

Kaep had every right to perform his hallow, gimmick "protest", but he had zero right to do so on the job AT WORK, while expecting zero backlash.

For the life of me, I have no idea how people feel sorry for idiots like Colin Kaepernick after what he did AT WORK. If any of us "normies" who don't get paid millions to toss a footall around did that, our bosses would put us out on our asses on the spot without asking questions, and we'd be damn lucky to find a new employer (worth a shit) who didn't find out/care about it.

It's not unfair that Kaep is out of work, actions have consequences.

For those saying Kaep is a good backup QB, you guys are delusional. The guy needs a specific offense to be successful & even then, he has a hard time running an offense. Ask Niner fans, delay of games or snaps rushed before the defense is diagnosed is Kaep's calling card. And that was during the Harbaugh era, when he played at his best.

When you bring up a backup QB for an established starter or a young QB, you want someone who will come in run the same offense as the starter. Someone who can make all the throws in practice. A QB who will go unnoticed. Kaep can do none of those things.

Why would anyone bring Kaep in to compete for a backup role knowing that the guy probably wants to compete for a the starting role? It's a headache most teams don't want.

LOL that his protests cost the league a ton of money. You are against his actions as much as anyone, how many games did you stop watching as a result? How many products of the advertisers did you stop buying as a protest of your own?

As much as I don't like the guy, I would rather have him backing up Dak than Kellen "I throw with my eyes closed" Moore

This leads me to believe that Kap must be still be looking for big money. Seattle isn't about to pay someone several million to sit on the bench. Either that or teams just don't want the media and fan headaches that would come with signing a polarizing guy like Kaepernick. Either way I'm fine with the decision. I never wanted Kap on the Hawks.
maybe this douchebag can get a job at Starbucks

I was on board with the "This is ridiculous, he hasn't been violent, all he did was a peaceful protest" argument, until I saw this:

Hope those pig socks were comfortable.

I completely forgot that he did this. Wearing socks that depict police officers as pigs...yeesh. There really is no way around that. Hope you enjoy Canada, bruh.

I do think teams are just passing on him because they don't want one of the more unlikable players in the league (from a fan perspective) to be their backup QB. There could be collusion, but I doubt it. Teams just don't want to deal with the headache.

You're not signing him to be your starter....not lead to a superbowl. He is at least better than 20 of the current #2's...Probably more like 25+

Complete nonsense. They guy cannot run most offenses, the assertion that he would better than almost every other backup is hilarious.

Continue to ignore all those warts while kissing that frog.

My list of backups who are hands down better than Kaep looks like this:

Jimmy G
Matt Moore

The list of who are maybe on the same level as Kaep looks like this:

Colt McCoy
Drew Stanton
Chase Daniels
Nick Foles

I would love to hear who all these backups are from the other 26 teams who are supposedly better than Kaep.

Name the backups whin for Brees are better than him.
Anybody that can run a regular pro offense. You think Kaep could step in for Brees and the Saints run the same offense?

Considering the saints are going to run much more with the addition of Peterson, I wouldn't have any issue with him as our backup but I'm ok with Chase. I'm just glad we don't have Scott Tolzien as our backup or something.
