I believe he had control of the ball for quite a while, but:

1) Stumbling to the ground does not constitute a football move.

2) He did not maintain possession while going to the ground.

Hate the rule, but respect the call.
It's go time muhfuggah.

Fair enough. But until they change the rule, I'm Mike Tyson:

BTW, the reason I think it's not a catch is because this play set the precedent. I initially thought the should be a catch, but those darn NFL rules.

Per the rules? No.

Common sense? Yes.

That's not the definition of an uncatchable ball. The pass was right on target and Hitchens not only grabbed him but didn't turn around to look for the ball. Uncatchable means the ball was thrown 10 yards off target. That pass was right on the money.

Uncatchable ball. Guy wouldn't have caught it anyway.

No (by the rule). Dumb rule, Yes! See Tuck Rule. Dumb rule, Yes but I liked that one much better:clap:

I like the 20 guys in a bar anology. If the majority say it was a catch, it should be a catch. Using that anology I think it was a catch.

So alcohol should be the deciding factor, lol?

Besides, poll is currently 17-16 no catch.

3 steps and a dive does.

Those Cowboy glasses are clouding your vision. He's falling to the ground throughout the process; there was nothing he could do to prevent it. That momentum requires the receiver to hold on to the ball through the contact with the ground.

I voted yes it was a catch, but the wording of questions is somewhat skewed. Dunno if the refs were out to pluke the Cowboys, they applied as many have said a stupid, flawed rule.

There should be a clause in the rule stating that "... if the reciever makes a superhuman effort and actually does catch the ball, all other considerations will be negated ..." you know, to make it less confusing :D

A couple of years have since passed for emotions to cool. So the poll question for you guys to vote on:

2014-2015 NFC Divisional Playoffs, Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers:

Did Dez Bryant catch the ball? (I will post a few GIFs in the next few posts to refresh everyone's memory.) Why do you think so?
Does it really matter at this point of time?
