Yet I never saw a Nike commercial that said "Terrell knows"

Bo is one of the greatest athletes of all time. Sure he didn't play long and had Marcus Allen getting carries, but he's up there with Jim Brown as far as talent

Pop culture aside, Davis was a superior RB to Bo.

I agree but with the caveat that every D he faced was solely focused on primarily shutting him down. Detroit was woefully lacking any other weapons which led him to an early retirement.

The Lions needed a passing game, it was a long time between Dallas area QBs.

Spoken like someone who was too young to watch Bo.
denver had that cheap cut blocking line too. remember all the 1000 yard runners they churned out after TD?

the raiders line...wasnt good.

Love me some Marshall Faulk. But no one on that list could match Bo's speed and power

I voted for LT. As a Denver fan I saw him the most. Amazing talent. Could do it all.

Naturally, I loved TD. What he did in the playoffs/SB's was legendary. A big reason he got into the HOF.

Missed games due to playing another sport and injuries. Bo was unmatched as a power runner with breakaway speed.

The game that made Bo a legend was the Seattle game in 87 where he had 221 yards and 2 runs over 90 yards.
What is lost is it was his only 100 yard game that season. Of the 7 games he played he had..
21 carries for 70 yards
9 for 25
13 for 31
14 for49.
He had far more average to below average games than good games.
He was fast and powerful, but not patient or elusive.

Total package at RB...whos been the best overall RB since 1988?

vote and discuss.

Look, not that he'd get a vote here but how could you leave Shaun Alexander off your list? There's only been 5 RB's that were MVP since 1988 and he's one of them. SA was one of the top RB's for about a 5 year stretch along with Tomlinson.

Rushing yards:9,453
Rushing average:
4.3
Rushing touchdowns: 100 (7th all time)
Receptions: 215
Receiving yards: 1,520
Receiving touchdowns: 12
Total Touchdowns: 112 (14th all time)

So, there is no way he's going to win "best ever" but he deserved to be on your list. You hurt me deep Rock.

LOL

yup, he was good. i also said i avoided "flashes in the pan and shoulda beens". he had a 5 year run.

he had 80 games ion the NFL. 2 more than terell davis. he was done by 28. that 5 year run got him 93.8 YPG. 100 TD's in 123 career games (take away the 4 in WASH, and its 119) is something.

he had 37 games over 100+ yards in 80 games...on par with davis (who had 38 in 78 games).

i also personally think davis' 4 years at his peak were more dynamic than alexanders 5. denver doesnt win a SB (or elway) without davis.

playoffs:

alexander - 3.3 per carry, 564 yards, 8 TD's. team was 4-5.
Davis - 5.59 per carry, 1124 yards, 12 TD's. team was 7-1.

You're forgiven.

I think SA would have a slightly better stat line if not for playing his 2006 season on one leg. Remember he played with a broken foot for a few games and some other injuries that he claimed God was going to cure? God never showed.

Wasn't he on the cover of Madden right before he got hurt?

The Lions needed a passing game, it was a long time between Dallas area QBs.

Moore, Perriman, and Morton but no QB to throw to them.

That team had a lot of talent all over the field, but they are one of many examples of need a QB.

Oline was not as good as the Cowboys, but Lomas Brown and Kevin Glover were both awesome. Jeff Hartings came a little later.

Defense had Talent on all 3 levels with Porcher, Luther Ellis, Chris Spielman, Willie Clay, and Bennie Blades.

Not an all time great team by any means, but with almost anyone but Scott Mitchell they could have been a real threat.

Nope he didn't.

He also completed 55% of his passes. That while teams stacked 8 in the box to stop Barry Sanders. He had Herman Moore AND Brett Perriman in single coverage on almost every throw and he could not do it. Morton out of the slot too. Elite tools across the board and still could not pass mediocre
