You do know that R. Wilson was given 3 plays to call at the LOS, right? Wilson is the one that chose that play for the coverage at the time...
Mm hmm.

Bevell should have just called a play instead of giving Russ 3 options.

He should've just leaned on the most dominant short yardage RB in the league and gotten the easy TD.

I wouldn't say it would have been an easy TD cause all season that year he was horrible on very short yardage. I would have went PA and scrambled Russ to the corner of the EZ.

As it happened, it was one of the highest rated SNF games in history. The NFL marketers were right.

Enjoy watching your team 1 more week.
Thats because every damn Seahawks fan was watching that game not just the Packers and Lions fans. Never said it wouldn't be watched it was about a level field and the NFL went away from that after years of bending over backwards to keep things level.

Probably not this one. Speed bump
Meh, it was still cool having 1 more game. They played a good 1st half to boot. I think SF wins it all.

And the icing on the cake is having the 1.5, which is the earliest a playoff team has drafted since 2002. In a better spot going forward than the Cheese.

Meh. Some teams are just better than others and prove it. Same goes for the Packers, which I didn't even expect would contend for a playoff spot.

Packers are getting a buttload of compensatory picks. Possibly even more if Rodgers doesn't come back, which is probably a mixed blessing.

The Packers are in play for 1 5th round comp pick. Since when does 1 5th round pick equal a butt load? They may possibly get 1 in the 7th round also but still 2 isn't a buttload either.

Packers have 1 pick in rounds 1-5 none in round 6 and 3 in round 7.

Thankfully for the Seahawks they pick 8 times before the end of the 5th round and 4 times before the end of the 2nd.

Packers get 1 in the 5th and another in the 7th. With their current crop of picks:

  • Round 1, 15th overall
  • Round 2, 45th overall
  • Round 3, 78th overall
  • Round 4, 113th overall
  • Round 5, 146th overall
  • Round 7, 201st overall
  • Round 7, 210th overall
  • Round 7, 216th overall
That’s 10. I was in error before; it would take a pretty exotic set of circumstances for Rodgers leaving to qualify the two for additional picks. It’s more likely a blockbuster trade gets worked out for him, if he is to depart the team.

You don't get compensatory picks for traded players. Or cut players.

Yeah, it's also the following year's draft when you awarded the comp picks, not in the same offseason of the free agent gains/losses.

Yeah I forgot and said so. It would take some really weird circumstance for Rodgers to leave via free agency, at this point. He's most likely to retire or play a season and then get cut.

There is no chance that he will be a free agent in Green Bay. His contract runs until he is 43.

It would require a restructuring of Rodgers's contract, that he would have to agree to. Given that he just raked the team over the coals last offseason, he's not going to take less years without wanting to be paid more.

No reason for Green Bay to look to shorten the deal. It would just make the cap hit worse.
