Also, Kinsler was a very aggresive base runner, but hearing from scouts.. he was the best on the team at stealing signs, and taught EA how to pick them as well. Now EA is phenomenal at it. There's a lot of intangibles when it comes to running bases that go unnoticed. Kins would undoubtedly be better on the bases then what we've shown this year lol

Made no sense whatsoever. He threw 9 more pitches and is damn lucky to have one out. Now, you've brought in a reliever with 2 runners in scoring position.

I just have a hard time believing wash's intangible skills we so often hear about makes up for his game costing tactical gaffes at times. I could be wrong though.

Terps....our team was one of, if not the, worst base running teams in the majors last year. Stealing signs and all. And yes there's more to the game of base running than just stealing bags. But Kinsler over his past 2 seasons (12/13) stole 36 bases and was thrown out 20. That sucks for anyone.

I just wasn't the fan you were is all perhaps.

ya, but if you remember, we used to be FAR more aggresive, so it comes with the territory. We used to double steal religiously. This year, we put on hit and runs and we sac bunt alot, but in the past we stole all the damn time. Guys were forced to get big leads and to try to make things happen.

We may have been a bad base running team, but I think we have to consider that we ran alot more before then we do now, where we put on hit and runs 3 or 4 times a game. I remember two years ago we had like 4 or 5 guys in a row who were really fast, and we'd be on the espn boards just laughing at how good the future looked and how much hell we were gonna give catchers because we'd literally get on base and steal and get on base and steal over and over. I forgot the players involved in that, but I know it was like Gentry EA Kins and some bigger dudes with underrated speed.

Now, usually when we want to make things happen we usually put a hit and run on. If you have a hit and run, you dont have to get a big lead because you know that the swing is gonna protect you. So we don't get picked as much. I understand both sides of the argument. I'm just saying I feel like the numbers may not be as accurate because of our aggression.
