I'm probably not the best person to ask but I'll add my .02:

5. 2013 Chiefs-Colts. Andrew Luck rallies back to win 45-44. I don't think either team thought they were winning the Super Bowl so I'm sticking this at #5.

4. 2017 Chiefs-Titans. Just an epic choke job mixed with some bad luck and lots of bad defense.

3. 1971 Chiefs-Dolphins. Double OT. Hank Stram said it was his best team and still probably should've beaten a really good Shula team.

2. 1997 Chiefs-Broncos. Chiefs were the #1 seed the year Elway beat the Packers.

1. 1995 Chiefs-Colts. Lin Elliott 3 missed FGs and none of them were over 42 yards. For all of the people that think defense wins championships, you need that other stuff, too, and Martyball always had issues. This was a team built for the playoffs losing to one that wasn't.

Its a toss-up:

NFCCG vs GB...........Cutler pussied out and we were stuck with Hanie........Urlacher intercepted Rodgers and had a chance to bulldoze his ass, instead he tries to out manuevre him........bah

Bears vs Washington...........Going for a SB repeat with Doug Flutie as our qb....Thank Charles Martin for that.........:lm:

and to top it all off............I was at both those 1986 games.......:L

To a team that lost by five touchdowns to the Cowboys in the Super Bowl at that!

Is this a bad time to bring up that the loss to the Broncos the year before was bad enough.

But yeah the Oilers managed to top themselves.

If we were including SB's obviously the 07 loss to Giants with the Tyre helmet catch, ruining the 19-0 and having to listen to Shula, Mercury Morris and Dirt endlessly

The 06 AFCG vs Indy was the worst. Pats were up 21-3 and on the move, but an offensive penalty called a big first down back and then it went down hill from there. Bug-eyed Caldwell dropped three easy passes, one in EZ and one inside the 10 yard line, with no defender to stop him. Capital fucking OUCH

The 07 SB for me as well. Watching some schlep make the luckiest fucking catch in the history of football after Brady (who'd been pummeled all day) drove NE to the go ahead score really sucked.

Also on my list is the 2011 division playoff game loss to the pathetic Jets. :L

After whipping up on the hapless New Yorkers 45-3 a few weeks earlier, the Patriots laid an egg and allowed Rex Ryan's moribund crew to win on a cold and blustery day in Foxborough.

This one might not have made my list if I wasn't at the game with my brother :mad2:

That was a GREAT Super-Bowl to watch though, as an outsider looking in ... Heavy weight fight in that one...

The 2002 Super Bowl against the Patriots when Adam Vinatieri hit the game winning field goal as time expired. :sigh:

I just keep the memories of the bizarre and often inexplicable playoff losses in a neat dark space in my mental attic. I don't have the energy to really bring them up, especially since Clayton has listed several of them. Can't do much but try again and hope things go your way with a better team.

Yeah! That too!

The Oilers in that era were a two quarter team. Either get a halftime lead and just give the game away. Or play like shit in the first half and have to furiously rally back. See Jerry Glanville's last game as coach. Last two games actually.

'03 wildcard game against the Packers was a tough one to swallow. The we want the ball and were gonna score game. The Hawks were a surprise team that year but they never seem to have good luck at Lambeau Field. Words can't describe how heartbreaking it was to see Al Harris run the pick back to the house.
