What are your 5 favorite tracks from this year? Imo, its been a down year but there are still some good songs out there.

War on Drugs has been given a lot of 'album of the year' praise but most of the tracks sound very similar. I think Ocean Between the Waves is the best of the bunch and gives a really good Dire Straits feel and is a very good listen on a sunny day. Probably my favorite track of the year.

Linkin Park's new rock album came and went without any rock fans recognizing or any pop fans liking it but I think its some of their better stuff. It does tend to get bogged down with the same lyrics over and over again much like Nine Inch Nails 'With Teeth' album that came out about a decade ago. Like that album, I think this one will be under appreciated.

A good mix of Enya and something darker like a Tori Amos or a PJ Harvey.

Like their song DLZ, it borrows a lot of pop hooks that work. A good earworm

Pretty much just a Marilyn Manson song sung by a chick. But it works

So what are your favorite tracks from 2014?

In no particular order

This is probably the best song on their new album, which imo is a step down from their previous stuff. RA, despite a down year, still put out solid music.

This is probably my favorite song of my 5.

This isn't their best lyrically but I like it

I don't really listen to much from this genre but this one stands out to me

Solid output from HU. Looking forward to their new album

Kenny Chesney is back after a two year hiatus to debut his newest hit from his latest album The Big Revival called American Kids.

Probably one of their best hit's since Thanks For Memories plus you can't go wrong with it being the theme song of this years college football playoffs.

From The Hunger Games Mocking Jay movie soundtrack this haunting melody was written perfectly with the lyrics from the book.

Tim McGraw's newest hit skyrocketed to #1 most of late spring early summer on the country music charts. The songs about missing your family in your hometown while you moved away.

Fantastic Lee Brice song from the album I Don't Dance

I could get into 'Centuries' as much as some of the Fall Out Boy songs from last year like Rat a Tat and The Mighty Fall.

Im going to have to listen to some of these songs when I get some spare time. I really like the Kongos but that came out in 2012 or 2013

Honestly, I'm not sure I've heard a song recorded in 2014.

I listen to classic Country on the AM dial.

I hadn't heard that Jennifer Lawrence song until New Years Eve and now Ive heard it like 8 times on the radio. I liked it the first time but I dont think it has much staying power.
