KY - No
Auburn - No
Duke - No

LSU is looking good. They play Auburn on Saturday so I'll know more then.
Florida could be a dark horse if they get it together in March.

UK and Auburn were at the bottom of the list for me. I might be inclined to change them out soon, but out of the two, I'd keep Auburn ahead of UK. As for Duke, they are a no brainier inclusion IMO.

@ericd7633 with the face palm express I love it.

Tell us if you think #1 seed Virginia who lost to a #16 seed is a great team. This should be fun

Not to revive any argument, but anyone here old enough to remember the first time lightning struck UVA in 1982 ??? NAIA member Chaminade beating #1 UVA ? And yes, can confirm that UVA with Ralph Sampson was a great team...

The year MSU won the title in 2000 they lost to 11-17 Wright State. They were most definitely worse than umbc was 2 years ago.

I cannot. I remember Sampson a bit but I was 6 in 82. Started watching around 7-8 Magic and Bird

Assume you mean NBA, cause Bird v Magic in college was 1979 IIRC... No matter. Just saying that even with great teams, sometimes shit just happens... In UVA’s case they have been the victim of probably the two biggest upsets in modern college basketball history... Chaminade was just bizarre. Berman and Mees got the news as they were signing off in the wee hours of the morning and apparently Berman’s lead out was something like, “And the #1 teamin college basketball lost .... to...... I don’t even know who this is?... “ :D

I would say PSU is definitely the outlier of the group. But they have a top 40 offense and defense this season. They aren't great at anything, but for example they aren't as bad defensively as say an Iowa or Oregon team is, and they are much better offensively than teams like Rutgers, Colorado and Texas Tech. Also, I think PSU is about to go on like a 7-2/6-3 stretch here given their schedule. Auburn is essentially PSU lite.

PSU is 5-0 since I said this, with 3 of their next 4 at home. They could go 8-1 during this stretch. Hell 9-0 might even be possible with the road game against IU. Back when I did this they were my 13th team. They may be top 10 at this point.

Might be able to play themselves into the 2 line. I could see them finishing 6-1 which would put them at 25-6 entering the B1G tournament.

Let's be honest, theres a better chance North Carolina wins it all than Penn State.

As we speak, UNC getting pummeled into the ground by last place Wake Forest. But an equal chance to zero chance is zero.

Certainly wouldn't pick them to win it all at this point, but they have a go to guy and really good guard play. Also, I think they'd match up well against Gonzaga or Baylor if they were a 4 seed in their bracket.

If the go to guy is Stevens thats the issue imo. Hes really solid but hes too much of a tweener who can't shoot. Too many teams will exploit that in March.

Ironically about brackets....Lunardi's bracket today was the first one Ive seen since the New Year(when i started looking) where I said "sign me up for that Marquette draw". It was PSU as the 4.

Sadly, we would lose to Furman tho.

Also my main point tossing UNC in there was every year is the same.

People say all these teams got a shot and no matter how wide open things are....it's always a Blue Blood or something ridiculously close that cuts down the nets. Every single time.

He cant shoot the 3 all that much, but he can create if he needs too. I think that's important. He is a tweener, but he can play in the post or face up. I just think he's really underrated.

That would be a heck of a game between PSU and Marquette. I'd probably lean PSU because I think they are a little bit better defensively, but that would be a good R32 matchup.

Yeah no doubt Penn State is really impressive this year. And its good for them as well. I like seeing new teams with a shot to win.

I'd definitely lean PSU too. But from a match up stand point they are one of the ideal teams. No stretch bigs to get Theo and Jayce out of the paint and (aside from tonight) a blahhh 3 pt shooting team.

That's mostly why I think in a 6 game format where you need to really get hot I think a team like PSU could struggle. They have good guards but don't typically stretch a D much and are below average at the line as well. But Jones is a hell of a side kick for Stevens so they could continue to surprise.
