it's only trivial when you're losing. if he was ahead you'd be saying "pettite has an era better than said jays player" but since his era lesser than the guy you called a bag of shit.. it's " trivial":laugh3:

No. I called it trivial because it's 0.08

You know what's not trivial? The several runs difference in ERA between the Yankees #1 starter and the Jays #1 starter

And the Yankees #2 starter and the Jays #2 starter

And the Yankees #3 starter and the Jays #3 starter

And the Yankees #4 starter and the Jays #4 starter

But J.A. Happ has certainly outproduced the production the Yankees have gotten from their #5 starter(s)..... so you have that going for you

so vernon wells is gonna hit 35Hrs and drive in the same number of runs as both of those players combined?? really ???

I understand that you're a Blue Jays fan, but batters outside of Toronto do more than hit homeruns and strike out

Last season
Jones .197/.294/.408 89 OPS+ in 269 PA
Ibanez .240/.308/.453 104 OPS+ in 425 PA

I'm sure Vernon Wells can match an OPS+ of under 100 this season

what question?

the one with the nitpicked stats that you only want ranked amongst catchers, a group of players that on average are inferior hitting wise

every single catcher in the american league..???

so now arencibia is the best hitting catcher in the league. and i nitpicked

hit, XBH, slugging, homers, rbi's, TB's

wow that's a lot of nitpicking

No. But that's because Wells won't play 243 games this season

His paces though will be perfectly in line with Ibanez's and far better than jones'

But excellent point otherwise!

Even better thus far, not that I expect the current rate of a 121 OPS+ to continue for the rest of the season, but he has more than exceeded expectations so far

Um.... the production that the Yankee catchers are giving is the same (if not better) than what Martin gave

And Chavez has been more than adequately replaced. Not sure if you've noticed, but the Yankees record is pretty respectable thanks in large part to all the reserves that replaced last years reserves

could you put up the yankees 3B number's and compare them to chavez's since you like stats.

Why does Heatwave keep laughing at his own posts?

And why does Heatwave take "he can replicate Ibanez/Jones" to mean "so you think he'll perform like he did in his prime"?

Talk about deflection...

Numbers aren't hard to look at

He played terribly during the years when you relentlessly defended everything about the player

Now, so far in the season, he been an above average hitter

Not that hard.

None of those measures (besides slugging) is by AB's or Plate appearances.

Your numbers skew towards guys with more ABs..

ISO ranks 5th among Qualified (Isolated Slugging, aka XBH)

Slugging Percentage ranks 7th among Qualified.

OBP ranks Dead Last among Qualified.

Batting Average ranks 14...

"I'm not a nitpicker!"

Meanwhile, let me ignore everything else and pick out 2 words that help out my agenda

pretty damn good for a made for tv movie

I mean...that would be a great movie in any scenario! The tension in Dennis Weaver's face is classic and you just can't turn away. Also, this must have been one of the cheapest movies ever to make.
