Plus he got 2 RBI on a double and Seager with 2 more hits.

Was another sort of ugly win, but a win none the less.

I was over on the Rangers board (Didn't say anything) but the hate that Smoak is getting unreal. Calling him a shit player and what not, correct me if I'm wrong but he has always had a strong glove in the field.

Was out and didn't catch the game, but judging by the box score it went pretty well.

his oWAR is actually higher than his dWAR, which is pathetic

he is a shit player, plain and simple

the m's will be lucky to get more than a season of league-average ball out of him

Yeah, that was a pretty play.

A messy game all around though. 3 runs scored via wild pitches and I think 5 Mariners were HBP. Sloppy

Happy to get the win though. 2 in a row

Well, I can understand their frustration. Since they traded him to Seattle, he's batting .292 career against the Rangers (making him less than a .220 against everyone else).

Smoak's biggest problem has been Safeco. He's hitting .212 there for his career, and hits HRs 28% less in Seattle than everywhere else (31.5 AB/HR vs 22.4 AB/HR). This year he's batting just .161 at home (.289 on the road.

Smoak has actually played better than his numbers this season. He leads the team in runs scored (11), runs batted in (14) and runs produced (22). If it's his job to produce runs, he's doing it even if he's only hitting .240.

I'm not saying he isn't a shit player, but damn they are angry.

why would you keep Rodney in the game when he is pitching like crap with the game on the line. This is getting old fast. Yes they won but only because Smoak makes a saving catch. I blame lthe manager for leaving him in the game. Its getting very close for some changes but we won't see them its the Mariners

yeah, they still haven't recovered from the 2011 world series

can't say i would have, either

good thing it's pretty much guaranteed i won't ever have to see my team one out away from a world series win, only to see it dashed away ruthlessly.

silver linings.

All those stats mean is that everyone else on the M's are doing equally as shitty or worse. The M's will never be good as long as Justin Smoak is on the team
