Sammy Watkins is unreal. What a catch for his 2nd TD! Not even into the 4th Q, Sammy has 11 catches for 186 and 2 TDs.

QB Taj Boyd looking good besides 1 bonehead INT.

I hope 1 of yous is watching this. He's so flipping good. He looks like a bigger Tavon.

Can you imagine our offense with one of the LTs and Watkins? He may be working his way to be a top 5 pick and will surely blow up the combine.

We must have been posting our new threads at the same time. Don't worry, SJ. I definitely wanted to check Sammy Watkins out.

This game is an instant classic. I want to see it again. Boyd vs. Miller at QB. Hyde can sure run a route and catch passes too!

Dude Hyde is a bigger bowling ball than Stacy. But his draft status will rise. He might slip to the 3rd round. Maybe.

Gimme more Sammy! What a game.

Sammy almost knocked himself out running into the defender on his last catch of the game! He's okay though. No concussion. Sammy played hurt with a little limp for half the game. Braxton Miller played hurt all game. What warriors!!!

After we draft Watkins, Bradford better hope there's room for two Sammy's on the team!!!

Watkins definitely brought it, hope there's no lingering injury.

Braxton toughed it out and played a solid game, but I'm not too sure about him at the next level. Even the passes he completed were off target, causing the receivers to get off balance, come back to the ball, fall down, etc. Definitely needs to work on his accuracy. Boyd is a league above Braxton for sure.

That's true shopson. We need to get our QB of the future in this draft unless we are able to swing someone's #1 next year in a trade down deal.

Let's hope Boyd in the second round. If not, we'll take someone later.

Didn't watch a second of the game, I was busy watch the 12-2 Tigers become Cotton Bowl Champs. I did however watch some film on all 3 top WRs in this draft yesterday and how the 3 Watkins showed the best footwork IMO. He's certainly a more polished route runner than Lee and has a lot of speed on Evans.

and the first overall of the 2014 Draft: Cleveland Selects Sammy Watkins, wr, Clemson

Red I could see Cleveland trading to get Sammy but they have to do it with the Rams. Houston needs a QB and already has Sammy's old teammate Hopkins and Andre Johnson at WR. But Josh Gordon is 1 failed drug test away from being suspended for 1 year.

No need for Cleveland to trade up for a WR when they have no QB. Unless of course they take Boyd with their other 1st rounder. :L

I have a feeling we take Sammy at #2 and an LT at 13. :yahoo:

Why take WR at #2? Lets say the Rams trade back with Tampa Bay so they can get Cowney. Then this happens:

1. Houston, QB
2. Tampa Bay, Clowney
3. Jacksonville, QB
4. Cleveland, QB
5. Oakland, who knows what they do, I have a feeling they could like Johnny Football.
6. Atlanta, they won't pick WR
7. Rams can get Watkins at #7.

mutigers - I'm worried some team will find a trading partner (like Atlanta did for Julio Jones) to go up and get Sammy. The Giants come to mind since they are going to let Hakeem Nicks walk. The Panthers would be another team that would consider trading up.

However, it's definitely possible your scenario would work out for us!

You can certainly play with fire and roll the dice, but let's cut to the chase and get a #1 WR and a LT. Then our QB can either succeed or struggle. Our offense needs an upgrade, our D has kept us in games for 2 years.

Yearssss

To think someone is not going to get this guy in the top 5 is mindblowing. If you watched the
Clemson game you would understand.

Sammy is better than Julio. He's a #1 WR in the NFL and has more speed and moves than Julio.
You all should have seen that game.

Mizzou game was not as good, but I know you Mizzou faithful watched Franklin struggle.

And for those Mike Evans fans, versus Duke in the bowl game he had 4 catches for 72. In the ACC championship, Kelvin Benjamin had 5 catches for 119 and 2Tds versus Duke.

Both at 6'5 225 and run the same 40. KB plays on a team loaded with weapons and Evans is Johnny's #1 guy which is why he tore it up all year. Talent level very similar.

If we would pass on Watkins (we'd be high if we did), Benjamin later in the draft would be my choice with the WR from Mizzou as well.

But Sammy's speed, size and athletic ability is why no WR in this upcoming draft can touch him.

I've seen Sammy play, he's good, I don't argue that. I just don't see him going in the top 5 because there are a lot of QB's and a lot of teams that need QB's. I also don't see him going above Clowney and Matthews.
