Yea BRS, Lakersrule, and TJ12: I went back over the numbers again and unless CP3 agrees to play for the minimum or the scenario of losing Metta, Duhon, and Jamison occurs, Kobe goes amnesty, and Nash either gets traded or stretched, we are pretty much screwed for obtaining CP3. We will just have to wait and see what transpires in the next couple of months.

I posted this on the Lakers were embarrassing thread in response to geneh saying that the Lakers just need a decent point guard who can play some defense.

The Lakers don't really need CP3!! Yes, it would be great to have him and if the Lakers can get him, they should do it. However, with the advantages in the middle, they just need a solid point guard who can hit a timely shot here and there and slow the CP3's, Parker's and Westbrook's!!

I would amnesty Kobe if he agrees to it. That would help with the money situation. If we re-sign Howard, I would trade Gasol for a decent player and a couple of future picks. That would take Gasol's salary off the books and give us a couple of picks so we can start getting younger. It's definitely time to start making changes on this team.

Yea Louie. I believe it is really going to depend on where Kobe wants to rehab if anyplace away from Lakerland. If Kobe's rehab and recovery progression is not clipping along and he is going to need more time, I think Kobe will agree to amnesty that sends him to Italy for a longer recovery period. Otherwise, I think it will not happen.
