That's fine. You are entitled to your own opinion but don't compare him to Jordan. Let me ask you this. Do you think Kahil Mack was over rated last year?

I think Pass Rusher as a group have become over rated, especially at draft time. For all his accolades, and game changing ability, Oakland is still drafting 4th this year. For all of Kerrigans 13.5 sacks, we are still drafting 5th this year. And despite the fact that the Jags were tied for 5th in sacks last year, they are drafting 3rd. I think that people have become more concerned with players individual accomplishments more so than whats best for the team in this instance. And bottom line is, another pass rusher bringing us another ten sacks wont do squat for this team if we maintain an offense that scores less than 20 points a game yet again.

And like i said, the position is ovr rated.

Washington had a total of 36 sacks on defense last year.

Seattle had 37 and New England got 40

NOw on the flip side, new England gave up a total of 26 sacks, and Seattle 42.... We gave up more sacks than any one in the league save for the Jags... but yea sure... we cant have enough pass rushers.

Hey maybe Fowler can play OT??

you can never have enough quality offensive linemen and Hau'oli Kikaha is pretty close the same size as Dante Fowler and a better pass rusher only reason he is projected 2nd to 3rd round is because of his past knee injuries

you cant have enough pass rushers.

You can IF, you've consistently drafted pass rushers and ignored other more pressing needs elsewhere.

Don't see the skins taking a RB in the 2 round at all myself. Do see one in the later rounds or undrafted crop.

OK, I'll bite, what position do you see them taking with their 2nd?

Here's why I believe that it would be a mistake not to get a more highly skilled RB earlier rather than a less skilled one later. There's a thread on this site right now that talks about J. Gruden and how he sees the right side of the OL. In it, he states that a lot of the perceived failures of the line had a lot to do with poor help from TE's and RB's. If true then the thinking has to be consistent with shoring up these two weaknesses. Of the two, RB to me poses a bigger threat to offensive failure and therefore must be addressed with a draft pick that at minimum gives the coaching staff some confidence that the player can do the job required. Right now, the team has uncertainty at TE, worse not one known player at RB who has both the blocking and pass catching skills that they need.

Should qualify that I see the skins taking 2 Oline before the end of the 2nd round and that I believe a trade back in round 1 or Round 2 will help facilitate that.

One thing does give me pause. Not sure how SM grades Olineman or if he really sees talent on our roster already. I, like others can't imagine him not seeing we have issues at RT and RG.

All reasonable scenarios, so, let's say you're right, where do you see them taking a RB and who do you see as being available when that pick comes?

I absolutely cannot see us staying 5 I won't be surprised if we traded down twice in the 1st round

Thing is, with Williams stock supposedly dropping, Most of the pass rushers being one dimensional, to light or some combination of the two, and according to the board consensus there being no O-lineman worthy of a top five pick... who is going to be the mythical trade up partner??

Grated I think Chip Kelly might be desperate for Mariota... but IM not so sure Chip is dumb enough to give up what it would take to jump from 20 to 5.

Williams will still be valuable then what about Cooper or White

IM not saying there wont be players teams MIGHT want to consider trading up for. But if White and Cooper are on the board when we hit five, Im asking who you think will be willing to make the trade up?? IM just thinking trading down wont be as easy or as lucrative as many around here seem to think it will be.

My wish list would be at least 2 Oline (RT and RG) addressed by the end of round 2 (early 3, worst case)

I'd also like to see a S, OLB and blocking TE addressed before RB

So probably 4th round or later :)

Depends on how much they truly like Al Mo as well as how the draft plays out.

No clue who it would be, i don't watch college ball so players in later rounds are completely off of my radar

Here's a pretty good run down of possible trade opportunities

In so far as with WRs

Excerpt

WRs Amari Cooper or Kevin White:
Teams that could be in the market: Bears, Giants, Rams, Vikings, Browns, Saints, Dolphins, 49ers, Eagles. wildcard options: Ravens, Chargers, Panthers, Patriots

Yeah. I really don't see many teams willing to give up a king's ransom just for Mariotta. Even less for a couple of receivers. The best thing to do could be staying put and drafting the best player at 5.
