So are Mary Tyler Moore and George Segal, and the dad from 6' Under. I love the acid angle.

I've actually never bothered to watch one minute of any movie Tyler Perry has ever been in or associated with. The trailers of his movies are enough to tell me "that's dumb, don't watch".

Adam Sandler... he made a living off that one-dimensional act from SNL. Generally his movies were made good by the cast around him and the writing (and we are only talking about acting here as the OP made clear).

Some of this most recent movies are hard to even watch... I have given up on him. As he has gotten older, that cute goofy kid charm that he lived off of has went away.

Tyler Perry isn't that bad of an actor... but the garbage he is constantly making and putting him name on irritate the shit out of me. Well, I should be more specific, when he plays a normal role (e.g. Gone Girl) he is a good actor. All those different women and crap he plays are stupid. And it always seems he has a focus on race in many of those "Tyler Perry's ......" movies.

Can't stand Perry. I have never watched a second of him. But after gone girl ...I had a bit of attitude change.

Yeah I thought Gone Girl he did a good job... and the movie wasn't bad IMO. I didn't like the ending.. .I wanted to see a conclusion to her somehow.. but movie was good.
