My wife was feeling sorry for Vlad because of those plays, and I immediately told her that now is not the time for mercy or pity. Not until we get 4 wins, I told her. I remember in 2002, late in Game 6, FOX showed a shot of the Angels dugout all dejected when they were trailing 5-0, and I allowed myself to feel kinda sorry for them. Hey, I'm naturally a caring guy. But, now I've learned my lesson. When it comes to Giants baseball, it's no mercy until we get the last out in the last win!

+1. And if the Giants find a way to get to the Rangers bullpen before the eighth inning consistently, they will score a lot more runs this series. That pen is average at best. Funny how that is less important in the American League. I guess that whole no need for a double-switch thing makes development of that facet of the game less important. There are certainly great bullpen pitchers in the American League, but I don't see how any team's pen could rate above the Padres, Giants, Braves or Phillies.
