Some surprising omissions from the Team Canada roster...that said, Gavin McKenna is there.

Cameron Schmidt of the Giants.
24 goals in 23 games.
Next highest on the team has 9

Though he might have gotten hurt in the game last night.
Looked like he was favouring his arm, and played one shift in the 3rd

Yeah, I guess we'll wait and see what happens, but if they fail miserably, you can certainly look to some pretty bad omissions.
no Josh Ravensbergen  sub 900 save % and above 3 gaa this season in PG prob hurt him ... but 6'5 and projected to be a first rounder :ohwell:

I think McKenna is a lock, but part of me wonders how bad the Tigers will do in his absence?!?

Jack Ivankovic (one of the goalies invited) is 5'11" (that's Dustin Wolf size lol)

The crazy thing is that I could see the Hawks letting Bedard play at the tourney, but I think the Sharks and Sabres want to keep Celebrini and Benson in the NHL...

the thing is Hockey Canada HAS ALL THE RULES ... but when the rules are broken the "punishments" are lax internally ... starts with the punishment on the "small stuff" ... the day to day bending of rules that can lead to what happened on that U13AA team mentioned above.

like in that case above .... the kids arent even supposed to have cell phones in the dressing rooms ... Thats a Hockey Canada rule ... however, i know 100% associations bend on this and make their own rules like cell phones can be physically in rooms but cant be used (need to be in bags or whatever)

where hockey Canada says "this rule is zero tolerance" too many times associations bend and say ahh we dont need to do that. ... "its inconvenient" or "it will never happen here" ... why do they even have risk management people at minor hockey associations when no one listens to them :noidea:
so heres another example, last night my son had a game against a team with a bunch of shitty kids who had no problem throwing out the N word (at 3 teammates - an Indo Canadian and Chinese teammate of my son :L ).

After a scrum in the corner my son was called a faggot. The ref (an adult - mid 20's) was right there and had to have heard it. All the dads were in the corner standing and we heard it and my son saying in response "say that fucking word again to me so we can make sure the ref heard it" The kid was shitting bricks immediately and skated off. My son says to the ref ... you had to have heard that. He said no. My son says to him "you are gonna file a post game report on this right?" He says no because he didnt hear it.

My son (a ref himself) has to explain to the ref that HE HAS TO FILE A REPORT because that is the maltreatment rule in the Hockey Canada rulebook. If there is an accusation of maltreatment a report has to be filed so Hockey Canada/BC Hockey/PCAHA can at least have a record that this kid may have said this. But the ref was like no ... My son yelled at him to "do your fuckin job" and didnt get a penalty for that because doucheref probably knew that reporting rule all along and wasnt going to do anything about it or take action on it.

Also reading that Beckett Sennecke has been added to the Team Canada training camp roster today...

McKenna does indeed make the team - I think I read he's the 8th 16 year old to accomplish that feat (turns 17 next Friday).

/Zayne Parekh was cut
