Every P5 team had it's chance. They all lost - on the field. Everyone knew Florida St wasn't going to win in the playoffs, but they won all their games so they got the chance instead of TCU.

Baylor was the Big12 champion anyway, as they beat TCU head to head. Which I've been hear for years is way more important. Now suddenly everyone thinks TCU should have been there?
