I think the FO should hire us to take care of business. We could put together the player staff and hire a REAL manager and we'd have a winning team first season out. :D If they'd have put us in charge back in April, we wouldn't be looking at a WC spot, we'd be winning our division and who knows how far we would have gone in October. :thumb: :pound: Go Mariners!!

Nah, they don't need to hire one of us. They need to do an actual interview for the GM position and not just take at face value what they say during the interview. They need a person with an actual vision and sticks to it and someone who is in between how Jack Z ran it and how Jerry does. Jack pissed off other GM's with his finalizing deals then backing out, when Jerry calls another GM they'd leave a funeral to answer and make a trade.

Mariners don't really have much trade value to offer.

The Mariners would be stupid to ship off guys like Haniger or Segura, but they are the only ones who have much trade value.

You could ship away everyone that people would want and just end up with a bunch of C-level prospects that would essentially serve as organizational depth.

Biggest issue is that we have $71.5m due to Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager and Felix Hernandez. That's more than the White Sox and Rays pay for their entire roster. Really nothing we can do about these three.

Cruz has value. Bullpen arms have value. Leake has value. What you get for them is totally dependent on your ability to scout.

seattle is falling off the cliff ...in the playoff race...would not hurt to sell cruz...for the rest of the year
with only american league teams ...a possible..it is not likly..hernandez not likly as well

that leaves only one guy...cano...but seager may be possible as well..........but not likly

right now i could not think of a trade for cano

but iglasias of detroit........... for seager may work....you have to start somewhere..

or somehow get frazier...of pittsburgh..which would...work going forward

one thing is for sure .....if they stay the same ...the same thing will happen next year
(definition of insanity)
the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness

or doing the same thing over and over ...and expecting a different result

Minor correction to "seattle is falling off the cliff": Not present tense, but past tense. "Seattle fell off the cliff years ago" but it's weird cuz they still haven't hit the bottom yet. :D

No one would begin to consider Seager with that crazy high contract he now has. The only way we could get rid of Seager is if we ate a whole bunch of that brown smelly stuff that dogs deposit in people's yards and the same stuff that sticks to the bottoms of our shoes when we sometimes accidentally step in. ie: dog poo poo :dhd:

really in seagers case.....a platoon may help.....but not romine.........ya need a good right handed hitter

or trade him to a club that has one.......national league team that already has one

seager has ....the second most at bats on the team...with 497...and a 219 batting ave

then they wonder why they dont have an offence

so if you keep seager
then you need a better hitter than romine...to be a platoon guy
a ss would be the best..to get a right handed one
