I do not think Shields will cost all that much. He is NOT Lester, Scherzer, Hamels, etc. He is most definitely a second-tier pitcher.

Nah, Shields has been the epitome of steady. 8 consecutive 200+ IP seasons, 7/8 of those seasons with ERA+ well over 100, 3+ WAR. Definitely NOT a couple of good post seasons.

A lot of wear and tear. And his last impression was not pitching well in the post season.

He won't be cheap, but he will be cheaper than many expect, I think.

He's decent but I don't know how if I want him; maybe its because he's Aaron Rowand's cousin.
