Bret Beilema get criticized heavily if he chokes this game away?
So let me get this straight. We don't call any timeouts or give ourselves a shot to win the game in regulation.....because we'd rather give MSU the best field position they've had all day after all we can scrape together is a field goal?
And i'll just say that although this game was frustrating, and definitely the worst home loss of the Bielema era, it really doesn't matter. The bigger issue is the health of our team and especially Stave. Canada needs to use Abbredaris more (zero jump balls thrown to him today, which is a shame) and Marquis Mason better be punished for his awful penalty that cost us the game.
Beyond that, we are what we thought we were. A very flawed team with a weak line that gets warn down as games go along, who happen to be playing in the worst division in B1G history with a very good shot at the Rose Bowl.
Well stave is out for the season so it doesn't matter. O'Brien isn't winning anything relevant.
Considering the Badgers almost and should have beaten Nebraska in Lincoln with Stave, I don't know why you're so confident about that. Remember that he went down in that game too, so O'Brien ran the final drive and couldn't do anything.
Because the ball was given to you on our 23 when Burkhead fumbled-7 points, our 43 after stopping you and getting a roughing the kicker - 7 points and on our 13 when Martinez fumbled - 7 points.
That is 21 points we gave you on short fields. And what was the score again?
Also without the short field Stave couldn't do anything either, the reason I feel that it doesn't matter whether O'Brien or Stave is in for the ccg or Nebraska or Michigan.
You are absolutely correct. Wisconsin can never avenge a previous loss in the B1G Championship Game.
And you make it sound like Nebraska committing turnovers and stupid penalties is some kind of fluke. It isn't. I agree we'll probably lose, but to dismiss us as not having a chance because of a game where we looked like the better team when our line held is a mistake.
And to the Badger fans, O'Brien can win football games for us but he needs time. When he has to throw it quickly he doesn't have the ability to see the field properly and he settles for a two yard dumpoff. If (and it's a huge if) the O-Line can wake up, this team will be able to thrive under DOB.
Abbredaris was also dominant and kept winning jump balls in the first half. Then Matt Canada quit giving him chances in the second. You never once proved you had any way to stop him, and if Canada has half a brain, he will look at the tape and see that.
And Stave had 213 yards on 23 throws. Not exactly a decent definition of "doing nothing."
