Side show crap.

Missing nothing.

The fact they seem compelled to keep putting them on speaks volumes.

I don't think it's crap but that's your opinion I'm happy to see it every year

Nationals park looks really good. I like being able to watch the hawks outdoors.

I am just confused why its always a baseball stadium. Is the planning too much in case a football stadium is needed for the playoffs? Just seems like the ice would fit better for seating in a football place rather than a baseball place, its basically a 70 yard field, so the 15 to the 15. Maybe if they do later ones again.

The outdoor games are fun to watch... But yes, they should have just kept it at one game in the US and one game in Canada.

I enjoy the Classics. Sure it's a little played, but it's still a celebration of hockey and a fun time. If you've never been to one, I can't recommend it enough. And most of them have been close, interesting games.

And I'm uber-excited about it being in DC. I'll be watching on TV since I don't want to fork out the $400+ seats are going for now. I wish they had done something interesting/cool like playing it on the Mall, but it will still be a good time.

You can call anything a Winter Classic, but 110,000 Americans and Canadians will point to this ....

So the game was the lowest-rated Winter Classic getting a 2.3 share. Possible reasons I've seen cited are outdoor game fatigue and the lack of a "wintry" atmosphere like we've seen in Detroit and Buffalo with the snow falling. It's too bad the first period had such bad visibility and camera work, because I think both got better as the game went on, but I wouldn't blame anyone for checking out early since the glare and sickening camera motions made it hard to watch.

It should be noted though that the "lowest" rating is a pretty small scale with 2.3 being the low and a 2.9 being the high. In general, the ratings for this event seem pretty stable.

I think overall, I think mostly due to the conditions and the ice, the play seemed to be the most like an indoor game of the Classics I've seen.

Finally, I love this pose by Brouwer after his goal...

Last I watched was about 10 minutes of the game at the Big House. Just to see 110k fans at the game.

They don't really hold any interest for me anymore. Completely overdone, IMO.

By the way, I didn't see these prior to the game, but caught one of them on the Metro ride home yesterday. These ads are like 6' tall in the Metro cars...

I like the Game of Thrones' reference. :)

Good ol Scarborough native. We've put more black people in the NHL than the "drug war" has put in prison.

Did I need to specifically describe the drug war as "bullshit" there to not offend? I don't really give a shit, I'm just curious how it reads
