What I thought was fucked up about Chris Weinke winning the Heisman, was he was 28 years old at the time.

There should be an age cut-off for stuff like that. Most kids are out of college at age 22 if they don't red-shirt, 23 if they do. It should be cut-off at age 24 at the most IMO.

If you're the best player, you're the best player. Someone else could destroy your argument and say cut the age to 21 or increase it to 30.

He did not go to college or play football for 6 years after high school. He play in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league. So he had his full 4 yrs of eligibility. What he was missing compared to the others was consistent playing time in football. His age was weird, but should not exclude him from awards.

Just signed a 5 yr extension with a 1.3 million per year raise. This was done on December 6th. Jimbo is going nowhere for right now.

Ward, as mentioned above decided to play in the NBA so we don't know if he would have been any good in the NFL. Looks to me that Winston will do just fine: seems to have all the tools; size, speed, good passer and runner....what's not to like?
