Wimbush is Awful

All of the criticism of BK and Wimbush is certainly warranted. I've got nothing new to add there.

The other issue for me is that this is a game we should have won big. We should have been up big in the second half and been able to play our reserves (QB's and otherwise). Building depth and getting younger players reps is critical. You see the top teams doing this on a weekly basis. Look at the scores of games over the first two weeks of this season and you see Top 10 teams who are playing inferior opponents winning by 30 and 40 points or more (aside from PSU ;-).

This protects your future. When your top talent leaves, the new starters have been able to get some playing time under their belts. BK led teams seem to play down to the level of their competition on a routine basis and we don't get to build and prep for the future.

I can't help but to feel that this has been an issue in BK's time at ND. Every year we're in too many close games that we should win big and we don't get our younger players game reps.

Hopefully when Dexter Williams gets to play, we can get more explosiveness out of our running game. In any event, 24-16 is an improvement over 24-17. At this rate, maybe we can beat Vanderbilt 24-15 and keep the streak going.

Don’t worry. In Nov when we’ve long been out of the playoff picture (or NYE6 for that matter) jurkovec can play the last 4 games. And Kelly can set about destroying his qb future too.

I thought last year (in year 8 mind you) we had finally turned that corner. We never let any of the scrub teams on our schedule into any games. We even dominated three good teams in Mich St., USC and NC St.

But Kelly can’t help himself. He wanted to tinker (despite claiming otherwise in his presser). Seems like the same thing happened with Wake last year and he never really recovered getting humiliated in Miami and blowing a chance at Stanford.

Kelly in his post game presser indicated that the players were really down after the game. No shit Brian. They should be. Your inability to adjust is the reason why.

Given Wimbush’s shortcomings, Kelly should know better than to try and tinker with him.

I’m not saying BW is Vince Young, but he’s certainly in that mold of that player. And I bet Mack Brown just let him play.

Bama has to play BOTH Lsu( next week, the Saturday after this) and Georgia ( sometime in November).

This helps us but like i said.

book is a scrambler and is a little on the small side for a college qb. hopefully BK designs a good gameplan for him, and protects him.
