Here’s the thing. Brian Kelly is full of shit. He said they would tailor the offense to Wimbush’s strengths. He hasn’t. He’s not a pocket passer. He can’t throw screens.

It’s no secret his best drive was when they moved him out of the pocket.

They ran hardly any designed runs for him.

I only remember 2-3 designed runs for Wimbush. It's clear that the kid is not comfortable in the pocket, yet they continue to force him into throwing from it.

Yeah. I counted two in regular play. I’m not counting the ones to ice the game. That was just to save the game and he still almost managed to fuck that up.

Maybe they were saving him for later games but I say let him do it. Stop trying to make him a pocket passer.

Of course his tackles were not helping at all.

Wim's prob is organic and allowed to transgress from last year ... even as whoever claims to have given him another opportunity.

His decision making and fundamentals are all off whack and unorthodox from what you want outta a big time college program player ...

- Panics under any whiff of 'adversity' and/or pressure.

- Mechanics are the most God-awful I've seen in a QB at ND in years. Constantly throws off his back foot, which causes accuracy to be a total crap shoot ... that's when he's not haphazardly sidearming the BS into never-never land.

- You dare not bench an AA QB in lieu of a white dude w/o the backlash, no matter how bad he is.

- The dude is a flat out mental case and piss-poor D reader. It seems like he's already got the play pre-planned in his head and that dictates what he's gonna do regardless ... altho he's gotten better since last year in this aspect.

- He depends too much on his own perceived athletic ability that doesn't live up to this level of play. This is not 12th grade at New Jersey high school football, anymore, son.

- He fails to make proper adjustments & reads. I'm convinced he's just another urban prima donna that's been told he's "great" his whole life and he'll always be great - don't worry about reality.

= In his defense, I will say the O-line has not been his 'friend' when he goes back to pass, but it's not ALL on them - his decision(s), or lack thereof, of when to tuck & run is totally befuddling. Last year, that was his propensity ... this year, I dunno ... it's like he's been told not to be so quick to cut & run, which may be to the detriment.

- I could count on my one hand that I believe were designed run calls for him today. I'm writing alot of that off to "it's Ball St, we don't need to run him ... we'll be fine, and we'll only resort to using his legs, if we absolutely have to" scheming. That was evident by halftime and they didn't seem to break from that.

I could go on, but I'm pretty much fng drunk from this piss-poor charade and I've lost all incentive to even watch any more football, today. I just pray, that I haven't screwed my Pickems away - that's a much more exciting prospect than what I saw on our home field today. I've been embarrassed enuff for one day.

Peace ... out. :drink:

I said that last week. I dont want to be negative but this team is the old ND team. We are very overrated. Now Kelly said this was the game plan not to run Wimbush. I can understand that but u cant have a close game like this. Never take a team for granted. Play to win the game

That was the game plan today Kelly said. He didnt want to run him today. Wanted to work on him throwing. Isnt that what practice is for Kelly. Play to win the game.

Agreed. Let him run the first half and then sit him the second half when you’re up 35-3.

The o line was dreadful and confused but Ball st was blitzing A LOT. A few q.b. runs would have neutralized that.

So would screens and draws but we know he can’t throw those.

And THAT’s the fucking problem. He didn’t adjust his God damned game plan when it’s clear to everyone it wasn’t working.

Adjust to his strengths (like you fucking said you would) or put the guy in who can do it (Book).

Watching Clemson and A &M and I’m dreading what Clemson would do to our o line.

Glad Wimbush got a break this game. Meanwhile the defense had to play like 110 snaps and backups couldn’t get in.

I’m guessing as good as they’ve been that will come back to bite us in Nov.

Is this worth watching or will i be needing a new tv?
You will absolutely break something.

And it will be obvious that had our shit head coach could have had his blow out if he just let his qb do what he does best.
