Anyway, as for the question, the Patriots should absolutely be distracted since Aaron Hernandez is innocent but that coy snake Brady didn't bail him out of taking the heat since Brady would get off with a slight slap on the wrists.

If it wasn't for Brady's open cheating scandal plus diminished skillset, AH double murder trial, and Potato salad made not with Miracle Whip but Kraft's , Pats would have gone 19-0 easily. Hellman's would have been ok too

Lets see and give him some benchmarks based on the drop from Brady to Cassel...

For Garrappalo to equal Cassel's production and wins... Cassel won 5 fewer games than Brady did the year before which would be a goal of a 7-9 pace for Jimmy vs. Brady the year before.



And for offensive and passing game production he has to beat...

Cassel's Pats had 29 fewer passing TD's than Brady's the year before (difference of Brady and Manziel last year)

1600 fewer passing yards (Brees vs. Bridgewater)

Drop off of over 1 yard per pass attempt (Cam vs. Peyton)

11 fewer points scored per game (Panthers vs. Colts)

6 more offensive turnovers (dfference of #1 Pats vs. #12 Texans)




And that's with a much better season running the ball with Cassel and 6 more QB turnovers for him.

So basically to beat Cassel:

2-2 record with that roster.
Not be on pace for arguably the worst passing and offensive production drop in NFL history from one year to the next.

Matt Cassell needed an all time great team just to get to 11 wins? The other time his team got to double digit wins, his RB put up Jim Brown like efficiency.

This has got to be the worst of all reasons that the Pats go 4-0 with Jimmy G.
