Lets put it this way.

Iowa has a good defense (far better than average). Mich St offense scored 26. Not their defense (this time).

Iowa had a good rushing offense (19th going into the game). They had 23 yds rushing total. Ruddock (their qb) had 11, and Weisman had 9. I have no idea who had the other 3, nor does it really matter.

I think they could. Their schedule sets up really well for them. If the can split the NW and Nebraska road games I'd say that's enough to get it done. I think they will the rest of their games on their schedule. It helps they don't get Wisconsin oh Ohio State in the other division.

They don't have the offense to win it, but they might pull off some good victories but also lose one they shouldn't

I will say this, the only viable offense they have played is Notre Dame.

The Spartans have a real good shot at winning the Legends. The schedule is favorable for Michigan State as their three divisional cross-over games are against Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue (which means the Spartans do not play Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State)

I'm really looking forward to seeing the MSU defense against the Northwestern offense.

The winner of the Legends is definitely going to be out of the four (Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern).

Three are pretty close to being putrid, not Northwestern.

On paper, Northwestern should win it. But they have the hardest schedule with Ohio State and Wisconsin on it. (Nebraska had that schedule the last two years, throw in Penn State).

Neither Michigan State or Nebraska play Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Michigan does not play Wisconsin, but plays Ohio State.

Michigan and Nebraska both play Penn State.

Michigan State has the easiest schedule and the worst offense. Michigan State plays on the Michigan, at Nebraska, at Northwestern.

Offensive Ranks based on Pts For (through 6 weeks) of the MSU opponents:
W. Michigan #121
S. Florida #116
Youngstown St - FCS
Notre Dame #83
Iowa #68

Indiana this week #12 should give us an indication if that defense is for real. Of course, I don't really trust Indiana to come ready to play after their first ever win against Penn State, probably going to have a let down, which some might be due to MSU and some might be self inflicted.

thanks OP, for the recognition given a truly remarkable cfb defense.
I credit AC/DC Pat Narduzzi 100%.

Gonna miss that guy.

Northwestern had a tough loss last week and has to go to Madison this weekend. If they lose 2 in a row, can they still win the division?

Michigan will probably lose to Ohio State, which means that one more loss for them (to NW, Nebraska or MSU) would make it hard for them to win the division as well.

Then it seems to be a question of whether Nebraska or MSU can finish the season with only one conference loss. Both play NW, Michigan and each other. Win 2 out of 3 and you're probably in the CCG.

If Sparty had Kenny Guiton starting, they'd be a top 10 team nationally.

Yeah, we thought our defense was the shit coming out of the first 2 weeks and look what happened when we played offenses with a pulse....30+ pts to *SU and Ohio. Until MSU plays a decent offense (NW/Neb), I'm not sold.
