Hopefully not, I want us to smash the shit out of the Seahawks and start the season off with a bang this is our division moment.

Yea, I really want to continue the Harbaugh Carroll rivalry.

It makes me wonder...

so far we've usually seen Ginn and Morgan as the starting WRs. Edwards is the #3.

So does that mean we are evaluating Ginn and Morgan, or does it mean that Harbaugh thinks Edwards will be suspended, and with Crab-baby still hurting on the sidelienes maybe we'll have to go into the first few games with Ginn and Morgan at WR?

Crap I hope it's not Ginn and Morgan. I want Edwards and Crabs in there!

I think it's a combination of both. Harbaugh needs to be prepared for the worse. If Edwards do get suspended and Crabtree's injury lingers into the season, the Niners need to make sure their starters are on the same page. At the same time, it's also a good opportunity to evaluate both Morgan and Ginn

Well now it looks like Spencer may be penciled in for starting CB...

We'll keep tabs on how this plays out. If Spencer gets the nod and Crabtree doesn't, that would be interesting.

I'm sure Crabtree will get the start once he's fully recovered from his *coff* injury....

He has been participating in meetings and walks throughs from what i'm hearing/reading.

Yeah I know he'll probably start.

It's just ridiculous that he can sit out ever year without repercussion.

Getting Edwards was a game changer for Crabs. Even if he's suspended, Crabtree will be the #2 WR option when he comes back. Very happy about the message sent with that move, even if Edwards doesn't pan out.

If Edwards plays a great season for us, I can MGT resigning him hard thus forcing Crabtree to either get his "preseason" act together or look for a potential trade....

Just to expand on the whole repercussion idea, actually there are repercussions and they show up on game day. Since Crabtree arrived, he has led the team in dropped passes and target INT's, while putting up what most would consider to be pedestrian production #'s for a 10th overall DP.

Not trying to argue symantics here but what you describe are consequences of his actions. He is not really getting "punished", for lack of a better term. I think what reprecussion they are referring to goes something like, losing his starting spot and playing time which could affect his leverage when contract renegotiations comes around

I can live with that!...

Then I'll just say that perhaps if Crabtree suffered more serious repercussions for missing practice, then the team would not have to suffer the negative consequences.

I think, IMO, when his contract is up, he is one not in favor of resigning with us.... however that could change if he drools over Harbs offensive system.

I agree with others who say it should be a favorable system for his skill set, so we'll see here soon enough.

Well Kenny Britt just visited Mr. Goodell and no suspension yet.
I imagine there's a long line outside his door right now: Harrison, Haynesworth, Britt, Edwards, probably more. Pryor even got nailed.

Does he (1) give them all a break this time because there was a lockout or (2) nail them all?

I don't see how he can let some off the hook but not others. He's got to nail them all.

I imagine though there would be alot of lawsuits then.

Maybe this time Goodell chooses amnesty? :-)

Agreed, his rookie holdout hints that he isn't really interested in being a 49er. In fact, I'm pretty sure that if Crabtree ever gets stats that put him in the best WR of the season argument. He is going to hold out for a new contract. If he blows up in Harbaugh's system, expect a lengthy contract dispute.

That's why we need Edwards to also play well, Vernon will still be there, and hopefully Ronald Johnson and Kyle Williams develop into decent receivers.

So in the case Crabtree gets better stats and he decides to holdout, then Baalke can tell him FU and just fine him everyday and Baalke won't be under too much pressure to resign him.

Hopefully Crabtree never gets into a position like Fitz has on the Cardinals. Fitz is their franchise on offense that dude can get whatever he wants, like Kolb and a monster new contract.

I found this while researching other information. This is the video introducing Crabtree to the media after his signing. Perhaps I am reading too much into it, but the way he is dressed does not make a positive impression on me.

Im very excited about Edwards and what he can bring to the table. Gotta admit i wasnt too big on bringing him in with all those off the field issues. But his connection to michigan with Harbaugh and his work ethic thus far has me really high on him. Nice for Crabtree to see how a WR puts in work with his QB. I also agree Crabs will not be here if he finishes out his contract.

I hope Edwards plays big this year and earns another contract. I just hope he would be willing to stay here. Seems he liked playing with the jets/a contender.

I see no reason why we cant beat the hawks 1st game of the season especially with Edwards playing. Hopefully he is not suspended, so we can really take it to them in the first game!

Wasnt that after the hold out though? I mean didnt they have this press conference, then he went straight to the practice field? Or no?
