YOu cant really be this thick can you?? NO fixing the line does not fix the whole defense. But what it does do is allow guys like Kerrigan and Smith more one on ones because they actually have a line that requires one or two guys to be double teamed. Which right now they dont. Its a Domino effect. If the Line can generate pressure and stop the run, it frees up the Linebackers to rush the passer. It also means they dont have to drop Kerrigan or smith into pass coverage or have them tasked with more run coverage. It also allows the Corners and safetys to do their job.

Right now the line cant generate pressure or stop the run, so the linebackers have no choice but to chip in on both.

Fix the line, fix the MAJOR issues they have had on defense... that of stopping the run AND generating a pass rush.

As I just mentioned to Coach, even if they sign Wilkerson.. the smart play is to still draft Payne or Vea. Its no just about a Nose, its about fixing the Defense.. finally.

And that starts with having the horses on the line to both stop the run and get after the QB... which BOTH can do.

Now then, where in this post did I say, Signing Wilkerson and Drafting Payne or Vea fixes the entire defense?? See it doesnt, but they have ignored the Defense for so many years, that its going to take more than a few half assed Cowboys rejects to fix the D-Line. As far as all in on Wilkerson.... Im not. But he should add more talent than the McNugget Boys, add Payne or Vea and the D-line might be something the Redskins have not had since before you were born.... a Strength on the Defensive line.

Drafting Allen last year and if they draft a dlineman this year at #13 I think that qualifies has addressing the dline plus the mac boys and Ionman looks like a solid player. So I don't agree that they didn't address the dline. The injuries last year played a big role. You don't want to recognize that.
