There are the obvious reasons like dominating starting pitching and a great bullpen (playoffs not included, lol). But there seems to be something more than that. These guys, as cliche as it gets I know, really do play for each other. They are a "team" in every sense of the word. After a very crushing blow in game 5, when the World Series was within their grasp (and still is in fairness), they don't turn on each other. They pick each other up.

The Phillies added a run when Placido Polanco singled, and Lincecum blamed himself for not shutting down the rally.
"Aww, man," Huff said. "He's standing up for his first baseman. He's a great pitcher, a great kid. No, this one's on me. Obviously, I made the big one.
"It's all on me tonight."

Hopefully though, either what the old Mule said was untrue about Huff, Burrell and Wilson.....or at the very least, these 3 learn from their mistake if the drinking and partying was true.
