Because *this* mindset does not exist inside of PBS:
While we have made significant progress under Coach Fox, there is still work to be done. I believe this change at the head coaching position will be in the best interest of our long-term goal, which from day one has been to win World Championships.
Denver had more playoff success in the past several years than Marvin Lewis has ever had as a HC...yet he returns, and everything remains status quo while Denver fires its coach for not meeting their lofty expectations.
Teams who strive for nothing short of a championship will only tolerate losing (even in the playoffs) for so long before they make the needed changes to be winners.
The Bengals tolerate mediocrity, and it's why this team will never get anywhere while Lewis is here, or Brown is still in charge in some capacity. It's ok to be average here. There's no real repercussion or fear of what happens if you fail.
