Watching the game with 6/7 ppl, and the faces from everyone in the room were pure shock.

It made no sense, and wont get much attention since they won. Gruden was also a disaster. Dalton wouldnt start for Deer Park, but the defense...damn that line is good.

Marvin is not a good coach. He'd make a great neighbor though

I was screaming at the tv as they lined up to try that 56 yard field goal. Surely others were too. I thought Marvin was trying to lose at that point. The defense bailed him out.

Marvin again proved how bad a coach he is. He also showed that it's not just players that can look good against crappy teams and give people false hope, he can too.

Oh wait, why are we complaining about Marvin?!? We're in the playoffs and we held out Pittsburgh!

I'm fairly sure Marvin thought it was third down. There was a penalty with a loss of down on that sequence (either the illegal touch or grounding - I forget)..... I really just think he didn't know the down.

I actually didnt mind the call. They were on the 35 so your options are 53 yd fg attempt, punt and if it takes the wrong bounce you net 15 ys, or go for it. They were 1/4 of aj greens foot from converting it.

Now the 56 yd attempt in the 4th was a horrible call, thank god it didnt cost them.

if he wanted to gamble, he shouldve went with the fake punt to Peerman right there, they have the best fake punt play in the league

Green and Dalton almost bailed him out, but that had to be the most inexplicable coaching descion I can remember.

It take a borderline miracle to pick up a 4th and 20 at that point in the game.

They had a 3 pt lead in a defensive game. You have to play field position there

isn't the longest FG ever made in the history of Heinz field 52 yards? so really, that would of been a very difficult 53 yarder.. agreed, I didn't mind that one as much as that 56 yarder deep in the 4th quarter, that was absolutely looney tunes...terrible call

I hated the 4th and 21 call. What's the percentage of converting 4th and 21? What's the percentage of kicking a field goal from that distance? Both terrible (given Heinz field) I bet. We should have punted.

I still stand by my point that the coaches were confused about the down. There was a loss of down penalty earlier in the sequence -- I tried to look to see if the sideline had a line marker with the wrong number on it but couldn't tell on the replay. Perhaps when the flag came one of the spotters didn't advance the down figuring it would be played over. I don't know.... All I know is that Marvin is the same coach that will NOT go for it on 4th and manageable late in a game (see Miami game) and now he goes for it on 4th and 20? I just don't get it.

I thought this was totally against Marvin.

He goes for 4th and 21+ when he could have tried a 51 yard FG, then at the other end, it is 4th and a somewhat manageable 6 or 7 and decides to go for the 56 yard FG. It was two of the most idiotic calls I have ever seen in such a short period of time.

Defense was awesome, nothing but awesome (except one single play by Jones).

Dalton struggled badly, but his offensive line was not giving him any time, and then at the end when the whole game was on the line, he found AJ to put them in range for that 43 yard FG attempt. Dalton has to play better, but Gruden needs to start rolling him out more if the offensive line is not going to give him more than 1.5 seconds to drop back and make a decision.

Pittsburgh's defense was awesome too.
