Why did Gruden keep Manusky around?

I am still here also. What I learned a long time ago was not to expect too much as Dan is the owner. I have let myself get excited a couple of times and every time I do I am reminded my initial thought was correct.

Even before Snyder things have not gone well since Joe Gibbs left Petibon who I loved had a bad year. Then came Norv, Mr. 500.

28 years later old Joe is still winning, just at another sport.

I don't really expect the Redskins to go to a Super Bowl and maybe not the playoffs in my life time. Maybe if I live another 20 years. I'll keep hoping and rooting but I just don't see anyway it can happen with the current owner. I used to think years ago that I was so glad we did not have an owner like Bill Bidwell …. well, we do.

Your post pretty much summed up my feelings.

Yep, old Joe is still a leader and a winner.

Yep I hear you. Over 55 years as a fan for me. You can't change the spots on a leopard but there are some teams I follow more closely than in the past. Rams and Steelers for me. Pittsburgh seems to always have a player or two from Penn State and I still like Sean McVay.

Well, since I'm older than dirt I became a Redskins fan when 'The Little General' Eddie LeBaron was our starting QB. My mom and dad had a black and white TV in those days and we only got two channels but every Sunday afternoon we always got a Redskins game on TV because of the area I live in because there were no Carolina Panthers or Atlanta Falcons in those days and the Redskins were the closest team to us. Things were not so good in those days either since Jim Brown ran all over us carrying attempted tacklers into the end zone on his back.

Same with the Boys.....Jerrah sux.

I'm not a Jerry fan either but at least he has put some talent on the field that seems to play together and appears to be a well oiled machine after two weeks into the season.

Actually I think Jerrah's son Steve and some people under put Jerrah in charge of bourbon and interviews and have turned the Cowboys into a good team.

You're right, it's probably another Jones boy calling the shots.

I wish Snyder had had a son he could hand the keys to for us!

He does, he went to HS with Haskins.

If and when Jay gets fired, he will have no one to blame but himself. He would rather not have to look over his shoulder than hire a competent DC. He deserves everything he gets.

That being said, if Manusky does get run mid-season, I wonder if Marvin Lewis could or would come in mid-season and try to get things situated on that side of the ball. I know he's some special assistant at a University somewhere, but his name popped up in my head the other day. Someone Jay trust and would feel comfortable with.

I've always felt that way skinsdad. If it's been reported that's news to me. I've stated this opinion several times on this board. Jay was not and is not going to hire his replacement.
