That same Nebraska team beat Florida in the Sugar Bowl at the end of the season. :D

Ha! I didn't know that. That was probably the last year WI had more people in it than FL.

Looks like that was a nail-biter as well.

Super close! Helmets of that era crack me up. They look like those play sets you can buy the kids nowadays. Concussions abound!
*also, you're gonna have to explain the burned down play fort. lol

Well, we lived on 20 acres out on a lake. There were a lot of old structures to burn...it was the fort's time. lol Little did I know, the area was already slated for a tennis court.

WI is sports crazed. They really need to start beating OSU and the CCG because it would mean so much.

Sports-crazed? Ya think? I remember reading at one time there were more golf courses per capita in Wisconsin than any other state. Semi-pro baseball amongst the small towns is alive and well. If you can bet on a game and drink while watching, there will be cheeseheads present.

Was thinking to myself today that we just beat a top 10 non conference team, and all I had to say about it afterwards was how sloppy we played.

Any e-psychologists have any theories as to why I’m so pessimistic with my sports teams?

What an about face from your Super Homer days on FN.

Our little Chewy's all growed up!!!

When you consistently win 10 games and have CFP expectations you not only expect to win every game but you expect it to be easy at times. It won't always look pretty but you won't think about it much at the end of the season. A win is a win, it doesn't matter how much you win by especially against a top team. But yeah I understand, at times you don't like how the team plays even in a win. You realize their weak spot and it scares you shitless...the good thing is that it is a long season and they have time to improve.

I think this is a very reasonable expectation for those teams that are constantly stocking up on 4* and 5* players. Why not expect such performances all the time when the talent level is that good?

Fortunately for the teams that don't get such talent, college football players are still 18-22 years olds which turn shit for brains on occastion...thus giving less talented teams a chance! What a sport!

That's awesome! A lot of my elders played on those town teams that no longer exist in this region.

New York is at the other end of the spectrum...especially in the City.

I think South Carolina is probably in the top five states for number of golf courses per capita, as well -- mainly because Myrtle Beach has so many

Well you're a Braves fan. That might explain the pessimism. Plus 2nd and 26.

Maybe it's because you post on the interwebs and read what others want you to believe are their thoughts. They're usually not their actual thoughts, they just want to believe their bringing you down to their level of misery.

Don't listen to this guy. He's clearly trying to make you think and en sech. The interwebz is not the place to do such things.

Honestly, you watch the game expecting them to execute and play intelligently. They you see guys do stupid stuff, watch play calls that don't make much sense and to top it off the other team actually has players that are good and make plays. In the moment it seems ridiculous that your guys aren't making all the plays, but the other team is competing too, but it's difficult to fathom that in the moment. It's all good, any fan that watches the games understands...but in the end you just have to enjoy the ride and hope for a good outcome.
