Not all players have the ability to drive and get an easy bucket.
Please!!!

I could drive to the hoop and score the way the game is played today, they are not playing for 2 in todays game

If it ain’t a slam for the highlight reel then it’s passed out for a 3

No you couldn’t

Defense is much better than you give it credit for.

Pace and space is what is driving the scoring.

I played it , and was coached by probably the most insane coach in the game’s history… I have forgotten more than anyone could possibly know about this great game.

There wasn’t a time and space on the court that could not be used by this guy to manipulate his players to excel.

I don’t have to watch , cause when I do I lose it cause I can’t believe a team does not do what it takes to really win a game

I listen to Clyde, he’s about the only commentary who calls it for what it is…

I admit, I have no patience for the game today and clearly by the ratings , it’s not looking good

Right.

Because clearly a former baseball player who maxed out at the high school level knows and understands the game better than the greatest basketball minds at the top level.

The game has evolved and passed you by.

Either get on board, or stay out of the way. Up to you.

How has the game evolved ?

Court size and height of rim still same

Players have evolved, what are these players doing to the game?

Ratings tell all

I know you love the game , coach it , you give back. Respect that!

Wake up man

The only thing that has evolved are the players, who they are, where they’re from, how much money they make

the game is still the same

Tell me what am I missing here?

Why ARE the TV ratings down?

You are missing a lot obviously.

It is the same game. How the game is played is not close to the same.

And ratings are down for a lot reasons including streaming platforms and older generations who don’t understand the modern game (you) and don’t want to watch.

Sadly T lance, you are right about something

I am missing the true talents of the game because of all the drama

Think about this, I posted in another thread ‘ players you would like to see play in today’s game.. I posted chocolate thunder and mailman , why?

Cause guys like Embiid and Durant and Harden , and other star players, freekin kyrie, great players, studs would not be getting away with the drama of todays game

I don’t know man, maybe “minor league baseball rings” translates to being able to attack the paint against the best players basketball has to offer.

It saddens me we will not get to see him make this attempt to prove us wrong. :heh:

This is incorrect. The '80's had the best mix of physicality and finesse, but it was not "low scoring". I looked it up a few weeks ago and if memory serves, teams in the 80's only scored about 5ish fewer points that todays teams.

The 90's was very low scoring and was as much WWE as it was actual basketball. It was still entertaining, but it wasn't very good basketball.

It was amazing

Bring back the great centers
