If you compare Scherzer and Lester's stats...with Cueto's...then compare the total value of the contracts they signed...Cueto has to be "worth" between $150-$200M. I would think the Reds would have to pass at that range...but if Cueto would extend at market rate of $20-$25M per YEAR, for say, 2 years...that would be something I would consider if I were the Reds...and Cueto could still be young enough to go for a big long term overpaid free agent deal....of course, if he's looking for guarantees....he should look to be traded in season and go FA to the Dodgers or Redsox for 9 digit numbers. next winter.
