Oldest boy coming in to night so I bet he will want a deer to take home.
Quail got a disease here and we have a few birds but will not hunt them.

Starts next Thursday for me. Got a trip down to hell’s canyon for archery elk!!!

Thanks. Weather is starting to cool down so the stars are aligning a little better than last year. We had mid 90's our first week and then snow the second. It was pretty brutal and messed the rut up big time.

I hear ya. Heard that Pikes Peak had some snow a week or so ago. Pretty wild seein that in August. Makes me think the weather is going to change quickly this year. Temps are starting to tail off into the 80's & upper 70's here in Idaho so definitely getting ready for fall.

Cripes....pouring fuckin' rain and we only got one point and no flush....fucker ran like a rabbit. Then Phil didn't have waders to cross over a steam that had flooded.

The dog had a great run though and was a dream to hunt with as always.

Before hunting light we were talking to another group when Phil opened the truck door without thinking and Whip jumped out and took off out to the field to hunt. I yelled COME and he spun around and headed back WOAH with a hand signal and he locked up at my feet and stood there. The other group was impressed!
