Yeo. The guy just isn't head coaching material.

Sure, injuries are hurting this team right now but he's constantly playing musical lineups many times in games and he just cannot get a PP to work for the life of him. It was a playoff problem and now its just embarrassing.

The team has too much talent but not enough guys who consistently score that's also an issue. But Yeo is not getting it out of the guys.

There might be a Bill Belichick in there. Belichick coached the Browns for five years (four with losing records) before latching on with the Patriots. A change of scenery and HOF QB later, he's got a spot reserved for him in Canton when he hangs up the hoodie.

Maybe all Eakins needs is to get out of Edmonton and draft Jack Eichel.

I think Eakins is out of his depth . He may also just have too many old boy network types providing unignorable and constant direction............ may it be ever thus in Edmonton:suds:

Eakins was the glitzy pick at the time, but he had a veteran team in the AHL with the Marlies. Maybe we should be thanking the Canucks for showing interest in Eakins and rushing the Oilers into hiring Dallas.

Here's a question. If one of these guys does get fired who replaces them? I'm sorry, but Dan Bylsma wouldn't excite me if I were a fan of one of these teams.

If Eakins gets canned, you would likely see either Craig Ramsay or MacT step in behind the bench as interim head coach. As Cyder pointed out earlier though, Torts is available.

Torts in Edmonton would be hilarious. I know it won't happen. Minny could be a possibility though.

I could see Torts there. Torts does his best work with kids, and lord knows these Edmonton kids need a kick up the backside. He played a big role in developing Vinny, Marty, Brad Richards and Dan Boyle, not to mention MacD, Callahan and Stepan. I don't recommend keeping him on for more than a couple years, but at this point would it be such a bad thing to give a shot?

Keep Eakins on to run practice though because it's a heck of a commute from Point Roberts to Edmonton (hee hee)

Yeah. I think the Oilers brats could use some strict discipline. Mike Keenan maybe? :heh:

A guy who's been canned in consecutive seasons needs to step aside

Yeah last season had nothing at all to do with the shit roster Gillis put out there, or with the team trading their good goaltender and holding onto the shitty one, then sending the shitty one to Florida to leave the extra-shitty one on the team, or with one of the "team leaders" aching for a trade, or...

Torts played his part, but the fact he was always a terrible fit for the Canucks wasn't on him, it was on Gillis. I don't blame Torts for taking the money.

if Bobby Lou is shitty and Lack is extra shitty does that mean Bernier is bloody diarrhea and Reimer bloody diarrhea with pinworms in it?

Not that the comment is relevant in any manner to the topic of conversation, but judging by sv% and comparing the quality of the teams each goalie has had in front of them, Reimer and Bernier are fucking Vezina candidates compared to those two.

The only redeeming quality is that Luongo's numbers have gotten better somehow by being traded to the Florida Panthers.
