No, I get why everyone has Lacy ahead. And it's the exact reason for my rankings. Lacy was a 4th rounder last year because "he didn't do it before". And I don't think this year he gets double digit TD again. Chasers chase.

It's thd same thing with Peyton this year. Everyone takes him in the first this year where last year he was widely ranked 3rd and taken in the 3rd/4th.

Before last season the last year the Packers had a double digit TD RB was 2009. Good observation there.

A healthy Rodgers, Cobb and Nelson...yeah, that is a very good observation. On the other hand, of the top RBs, how many are going to be relied on solely as the go-to guys? Doug Martin is suddenly looking better and better.

They also had a lot of moving parts. Remember bringing Kuhn in for goal line carries. I don't think that will happen this year in GB. Actually think there is a better chance of it happening in Denver.

If you want to look at things like that, Denver hasn't had a RB with 250 carries in a decade.

Just out of curiosity, who would be coming in in Denver? It sure as heck ain't Hillman, and it ain't CJ Anderson. Late last year that guy was Ball

That's not entirely true on Lacy. At this time last year it wasn't clear what GB was going to do at the RB position (just like Den). If the plan of having Lacy get almost all of the work was the same last year as this year he would have gone earlier. The interesting part of this discussion is that Ball and Lacy were very similar going into last year. One won the job outright and put up decent stats and the other didn't.

Chasers Chase? That's kind of an idiotic statement and has nothing to do with the discussion. If anyone expected Lacy to put up the stats he did last year they sure as heck wouldn't be taking him in the top 5 in a PPR, would they? You seem to still be entrenched in the take a RB at all costs strategy and over the last few years the wise money has clearly moved away from that in most National drafts. The worst kind of fantasy player is always the one that tries to outrsmart everyone else. Yes, you could end up with a huge fantasy stud, but for a few extra points you also could be risking a time share.

Just so all is clear. Again, I like Ball a lot and will be very happy to get him this year. But there is no way in heck in a PPR I take him in hte top 5 or over Calvin and I don't think there is any format that I take him over AP. And this is coming from a guy who has never thought AP was the #1 pick in a PPR.

Purely unscientific, but in Manning's 15-year career, his lead RB on average have ranked 14.6 in fantasy which is pretty good, even if some of his lead backs were top notch players like Faulk (1998), Edge (99-05), Addai (06-10), McGahee (12) and Moreno (13).

Played it safe kept Calvin n hoping for a later draft spot to snag a Rb early since our keeper takes our first round pick in a snake draft

You really don't know that. Denver historically has pulled the unexpected at RB. All you need is one of those guys (or a roster cut from another team) to be the 3rd down back or the goal line back to hurt Ball's production. Moreno was NOT the #1 back either of the last two years at this point and neither was McGaHee. That is my whole point. It could happen anywhere but seems to happen more with certain teams and Denver is one of them. So again, I expect Ball to be "The Guy" and I expect him to have a big fantasy year. I just don't see how you can be certain enough of it to take him where you are. The best thing about fantasy football is we all have our own opinions and these are the decisions that make the draft and then season so much fun. Heck, we could put the top 10 WRs out there and discuss the rankings all day and when all is said and done it could come down to one or two catches that separates them.

Well..I can say with certainty that it won't be Hillman.. maybe in rare occasion he's in on a 3rd and goal. .CJ Anderson does have an outside shot at a little action. But if people are concerned about Ball's the fumbles last year. . They should really expect nothing from Hillman, who can't even handle an exchange in practice if reports are to be believed

I think with fumbles you get a fresh start every year if you are a younger guy. I mean how many total fumbles does he have in his career? That doesn't come into play as a negative with Ball for me.

Possibly. . Although I think you can see evidence of it, albeit with another team/coach in NE with Ridley... dude is seriously in the doghouse already because it was the same issue as last year.
In Denver, and bear in mind without my XM radio in the work vehicle, I'm basically forced into listening to the local yocaks from 12-5 every day. . But I mean it's a running joke with them. "This just in Hillman fumbled another handoff in practice, also the sky is blue and water is wet". I recall one day they were broadcasting live from the practice facility and they reported he fumbled at least 4 times between handoffs and returning punts that day alone, twice untouched!. And this is the only guy who is a realistic threat to Ball's playing time. I just don't see him being very involved all that often. Now, most everyone you hear around here is fairly high on CJ Anderson, but even the biggest Bronco colored sunglasses wearing sycophants will tell you he's nothing but adequate at many things and great at none.
What it all means? Who really knows besides John Fox... but there's nothing that outwardly says anything other than he's their 3 down back. And if that all we really have to go on, he's a top fiver to me, very realistically #1.
