Ball - full load and receptins.
Dez - heavy passing situations
Mega - still great but now there are options for stafford.
AP - I think MIN wont rely on running game now.
Lacy - too much of a wrecking ball. I can see him getting hurt with his head on collision style.

So what is it Ball has done to have so many of you taking him above Calvin, AP and Dez?

Ball

I may be called out on this mid-season, but I just don't get why Ball is rated so high on boards? He is in a pass first offense. He flat out sucked last year. He can't block, which leads to bench time.

Maybe he has improved. But I just don't get it, at all.

According to the local yocals on the radio here in Colorado, Ball was credited with exactly ONE missed blocking assignment. He can block just fine. And how you can say he "sucked" last year is beyond me. The stats say differently. Moreno, a back who was a healthy scratch for half the games 2 years ago, was a top 5 back in that system. Ball is superior to Moreno, talent wise, in nearly every facet of the game. .. that's why he's so over on these boards

And yet with all of that Moreno had the bigger role last year. IMO You guys are making a mistake if you take Ball as early as it appears some of you are based on this thread. He could be great, but how can you justify that risk? No Denver RB has had 250 carries in a decade. I expect Ball to break that and have a very good year, but I expected him to be the best back in Den last year too. I think sometimes people over think things when it comes to fantasy football instead of just doing the obvious.

He averaged exactly 1 reception per game. He had a total of 4 tds - but 3 fumbles. There is nothing out there to suggest he is an elite back. I'm not saying he can't be. I'm just saying drafting him high is a complete shot in the dark.

These guys are can't miss prospects. Ball is a big "can" miss. You can't miss with a top 5 pick.

Martin? Did you watch football last year?

I'm on Ball too, because look at EVERY RB Peyton has ever played with. You will see highly productive activity. By the end of last year, they were already making the move from Moreno to Ball. Don't give me the BS about Ball getting beat out last year, it takes a lot to learn a Peyton offense.

Look at Lacy last year. Everyone has him in their top five because of his rookie season. What makes you think Ball can't do that (and more, since Peyton's RB's catch more balls than Rodgers'). Ball has one year under his belt now and is coming in as the starter after a light load last year. Primed for 50+ catches with so many scoring chances on the horizon, I don't understand why he's not top five on everyone's board.

Don't need to look at every one he has ever played with. Who was the fantasy stud RB two years ago? The Bronco RBs will put up fantasy points, but will it all be one guy?

I don't think anyone is questioning whether Ball has the potential to be good or even that he actually will be good. What people are scratching their heads at is some drafting him in the top 5. Just the players mentioned in this thread are way to much more of a sure thing (not that anyone is a sure thing) for anyone to consider taking Ball above them. The risk/reward just isnt there IMO.

Well I think people that chase points are the questionable ones. Every year, every year there are new fantasy stars. It's those that chase that get left behind.

Doug Martin was drafted high last year because of s 50 point game two years ago. Myself included fell for the hype without looking at how his season really went... mediocre.

We get hung up on names too much.

And every year there are many more fantasy busts. I'm glad you brought up Martin because i had similar discussions with people about Martin last year. I wanted no part of him where people were taking him and He went way too early.
