Thinking A&M pulls the upset only because USCe is always a slow starting team. Seen them the last couple of seasons look really sluggish on offense but had the defense to bale them out. Think their defense is not as good without Clowney and it may show when A&M runs the up tempo. Got the Aggies in a close one 38-34.

The South Carolina Defense actually did better before Clowney.

Actually, statistically, SCAR's defense has been better without Clowney. If SCAR copied Les Miles's blueprint on how to shut down Aggy's offense, SCAR will win by 2 or 3 scores b/c I just don't think Aggy's awful defense got any better. Too many young dudes on that defense......

But South Carolina also runs an uptempo offense as well with the Fun N Gun.

Agreed. Sumlin is running out of Sherman's recruits, so I'm eager to see what he can finally do with his own recruiting class, especially on the QB side (Sumlin inherited Case Keenum and JF; he's never had to recruit his own QB to be the starter yet as a HC). On the flipside, SCAR hasn't had to face A&M's offense and Sumlin's offense is just like Leach's offense; you can insert any QB in that system and they will light it up. I still think A&M's defense is their problem and this is why SCAR wins:

Difference is South Carolina has an experienced LB crew and Safeties. That should really help, especially the safeties. CBs are new. DL is a bit of worry, but they seem to always produce a solid DL. I think A&M can score, but I see SoCar killing the front 7 of A&M. People are underestimating the SoCar OL. They bring back a total of a 132 starts on the OL. Lost only 1 OL in the 2 deep. Maybe I will be surprised, but I dont think A&M's offense is ready for prime time. They are talented, but very green outside an excellent OL. I dont doubt that the offense will be very good by mid-season, I just doubt they will be very good in week 1
