I know Edmonton was big on Schneider, in fact I think they had a better package lined up for him but Vancouver didn't want to trade him within the division. Could the Devils trade him to Edmonton?

I'm trying to warm up to the trade. I actually like Schnedier a lot, I think he's a stud goaltender. I'm just not 100% sure that's the best thing we could've done with a top 10 pick.

Wow! Vey bold move. This team needed a goalie of the future and now we have a proven one. However, we still need a scoring top level forward. Seems like Lou is playing for now. I will be fully on board if 2 more things happen: We get a legitimate goal scoring forward over the next few weeks and Schneider is signed to a deal that would keep him here for a while.

well the thing is while #9 is a really good pick and you can land a potential franchise player. lets face it kovy aint getting any younger we draft someone maybe he turns into a stud in 2-3 years time then we have an older kovy and what goalie?

we have a legit goalie now 1 more stud forward away from being good i believe. just gotta get rid of some of that dead wood on defense and get some kids in there

yeah sj its a good trade now for the devils but to be clear cut winners they need to ink corey for a long term deal. something that doesnt happen to freaking often here

Was both shocked and happy when I heard the pick. Didn't see that coming. I was hoping for Nichushkin before they announced the trade but you can't argue that deal. Then I also was thinking the Devils would pick up some defenseman that was projected late in first round shocking everyone.

I think good chance Schneider will start more games than Marty next season.

This guy covering the draft for NBCsports Network, not sure his name mentioned the fans chanting Sidneys better when the first pick was announced. I thought they were chanting Marty's better since Patrick Roy was on stage.

Thanks for clarifying that. I think the first pick is from the same town as Crosby. But I still know I heard "Marty's better".

NBC is using the TSN feed... something that I wish they would stop. No reason why NBCSG and NHL Network cant teamup on a day like today

Shocking trade but I suppose its worth it. The #9 wasn't going to contribute next season so this clearly helps us in the present.

I wasn't sold on picking up a goalie but Lou didn't give up any current assets and was able to pick up a great goalie
