I don't see any way of knowing at this point. TA has glimpses of brilliance but no consistency. Can a spring training with someone developing him make the difference needed to be able to make his passes 2 out of 3 and not telegraph them?

If so I think the starter today keeps his job.

But then if Stanton gets the same investment what will that do with him?

We are entering the great quarterback frontier, where no Pelini staff has gone before.

Well yeah. It's really just a guess.

You'd have to take into consideration what type of offense you expect Riley to put forth and what player fits the mold the best.

If it's pro-style pocket stuff, then Tommy's not your guy.

Im no genius but after watching Tommy for 2 seasons I would say it most likely wont be him. IMO he should be able to spot an open reciever by now and he cant and he should be consistently accurate down field and he certainly is not.

To many of his passes are in desperation for my taste. Maybe Riley can settle him down and get him geared toward an intermediate passing game, something he shows far more accuracy in.

Bush is a wildcard. He has all the tools and has a great attitude. Hard worker.

If Riley picks up a pro-style QB all bets are off.

Stanton has the skils but will Riley give him any credit for game experience?

Yesterday he was 53% and had at least a half a dozen more to SC defenders if they were able to catch
But second half he was 18 of 24. 75%

Like it or not the fact that we were in that game was because of him. Now does that count for anything with Riley? I'd say it will and that with some qb coaching you are going to see him blossom.

Riley may integrate a little option in his offense with him, but he has this going, he is the one with the snaps and he has shown what he can do under fire.

Now this is just my not so humble opinion and we all know about opinions.

I wouldn't be surprised if he scours the Juco market for a drop back/pocket passer what doesn't scramble en sech.

he has some skills but for the most part he has shown me that he can throw interceptions and uncatchable balls like none other when the team gets down. That being said , he is still young and is probably capable of learning.

Assuming all candidates benefit from the same coaching, I am going to go with the returning starter.

Didn't you folks listen to anything Riley said this weekend?

He said that he wouldn't give away what direction we're heading with the Offense, but hinted that he is interested in getting away from the Pro-Style Offense that he has used and going with something that fits a dual-threat QB.

He then said within the next 10 days or so we will know who our OC is.

This tells me he already knows who is OC is (obviously) and which direction we're going to head here on Offense. He just can't say yet because whoever the OC is going to be, he is still competing this year at another program.

That's what I heard. Maybe he wants to see the spread offense for his last year's in the captains chair? I wonder who is out there who could make it the best spread offense in the nation?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Complete mystery.

I can't think of one person in the entire country who could come in and get it done.
