Brian Kelly seems to have snuck into the Kirk Ferentz zone. Overall produces mediocre season, have a stink year occasionally, one huge year that he’s going to turn into a contract extension, rinse, repeat.

ND isn't going to fire Kelly after getting them to the playoffs this year. JH just got demolished by OSU and Florida. His leash is short as is right now, and lots of NFL openings today. I could see him jumping ship.

I don't think Meyer coaches ever again.

Yeah I don't know the severity of Meyer's health issues. But I know sooner than later he will want to coach again.

Yep. We’re in coach purgatory. He’s inarguably better than his 3 predecessors. He can occasionally give us a good regular season but will always be outmatched by elite talent and better coaches with a month to prepare.

At least he’s gotten some consistency going finally. First time we had back to back 10+ wins since the 1990’s, even if he shat the bed 2 years ago.

But he’s a known quantity by NFL GM’s that say no thanks, and no lateral or better program in college wants him. He’s no fool, he’s not going to make a lateral move or go to a smaller program.

He could pull an Urban and retire for a year or two.
