Gween bay would be disappointing. The seahawks would'nt even need pads for that game. Fail Mary my ass. How stupid do you have to be to not just knock the ball down?

How about when gwendelin bay comes to town, we get some hairy ugly dude cheerleaders in speedo's so Rogers will have something to smile about. He seems to like getting sacked by our defense. Imagine, all those big pretty men jumping on him!

Honestly I feel sorry for any team coming in for that game. They will be unveiling the championship banner and that crowd is going to be rabid and flat out nuts. Still, to assume Seattle beats the ass off any team coming in is a bit premature at best. Let's see how many of the team they are able to retain and see how the other team does in the off season first.

Rogers coming into the Clink will be a national draw no matter what people think the outcome might be.

Might be worth it to have it be SF so we can unveil all the new banners including Superbowl champs in front of their faces, especially Harblah, Craperdick, and Crabtree.

The Lions. One of the few teams to beat them up past couple of years.

I don't see how playing Denver would be a hyped game after the Super Bowl. Denver has work to do to regain their credibility. The best game would be against the Niners but I'm not sure they'll want a divisional game week 1. Maybe they will, but if they don't I don't see non-divisional game that would have more national interest than Green Bay. I think the NFL would be fine in hyping up the fail mary to gain a big audience.

Plus I'm biased and want to get the Seattle game out of the way early.

For what its worth I think Green Bay makes the most sense

Oakland-obviously not
St Louis/Arizona-while great division opponent, they dont have the national wow factor
Dallas/Giants- unlike the previous two these two do have the national wow factor but didnt have great years to make enough sense
Denver-I just dont see it happening, I think NFL will save this for later in the year
SF- a few reasons I dont think its them
1. Fox will fight to keep the SF-Sea games if they can, they have only had 1 out of 4 the last two years
2. SF is opening a new stadium and I would think the league would maybe want to have a primetime opening week game there. 1st Sunday night maybe?
3. I think these matchups are better later as well

So I think it will be Green Bay which should be a great matchup in my opinion. Of course who knows what each team will look like then.

The league gets to pick it and the question is will CBS try to lobby the league to protect their rights to the Denver@Seattle game? If they do it will probably be GB and if the league says we don't care if we take the single largest game on your schedule away from you we want that game it will be Denver.

This was a good point, but now it's been announced that CBS will broadcast the TNF games for the first 8 weeks of the season, so the NFL could do this and CBS wouldn't lose the broadcast. However if it's Green Bay, then Fox loses that broadcast to CBS (though I admit I would expect GB @ Sea to be a prime time game and Fox will lose it anyway). It's an interesting twist from what we thought we knew yesterday.

Obviously SF, Denver and GB are most likely.

I would not be shocked if it is Dallas either. Primetime loves the Cowboys.

I have been a Seattle fan since the 1980 season when I returned from a stint in the USN. I met Dave Kreig at a fishing tournament at Banks Lake and helped out with the Brian Millard fishing tournaments at Potholes Reservoir. The NFL wouldn't allow us to call it a Seahawk function so we called it the Brian Millard tournament. In those days about half the team would show up and be paired with local bass fisherman. It was all in fun. Not a lot of prize money by today's standards but lots of trinkets.

Having a fully healthy Denver back with an entire off season to address their short comings in that game would provide enough back drop to make it compelling.
Stay Classy Seattle

 Yeah, because we know SF fans wouldn't say such a thing if they had won it all right?

I would think your fans would want that first game. Might be the closest Kaepernick ever gets to seeing a championship banner unveiled in front of him.

:suds:

Holy shit can we merge this with the other thread about the exact same topic ? And merge all the Seahawks threads or something this board is cluttered as fuck. Not trying to hate on the Hawks but it's really annoying having to skim through 15 Hawk related threads to find something to read.

Denver, guaranteed. Unless Manning retires. Then SF. Don't rule out Arizona, the only team to win in Seattle this year.

Both Seattle/SF games will be in prime time. They are the two best teams by a wide margin.

Well the season is over and only one fanbase is happy how it ended. Why are you surprised to see a lot of Seattle fans here?
