Alright so we all know that Infante is going to win the vote SMH(x4 million) but who do you guys think should be the starter? We got some good canidates and I am not even going to include Pedroia or the rook Travis.

Pretty much everyone on ESPN talks about Kipnis and maybe Altuve. Dozier is basically ignored even though his stats right now are siiiiiiick for a 2B.

My homer pick would obviously be Dozier but him and Kipnis are a great race right now. Do you value the pure do your job and hit/get on base in Kipnis? Or the All around explosiveness of Dozier?

Altuve has tailed a bit this year but is still very good and all 3 can go out there and play great defense.

Also, will Yost take 3 2B since Infante is getting a spot? And who gets left off? I could see Dozier getting shafted since Perkins is a lock to at least give the Twins a rep.

Personally I think it's pretty clear that Kipnis has been the best. Dozier would be my pick as the back up, and I'm sure they will go with 3 second basemen. Should be between Pedroia and Forsythe for that 3rd spot but unfortunately Infante has a good chance of making the team.

Travis hasn't played enough to be considered.

Kipnis would get my vote. I personally don't think it is too close. Although Dozier is a good player and has had a good first half thus far.

And I hate that Perkins would get the Twins nod over Dozier, who clearly deserves a spot. I wish the "bullpen" for the All Star game was just all starters, with maybe one relief pitcher to represent the position.

Well Perkins leads the league in saves and hasn't blown one so he kinda deserves a spot lol

Even if I was going with one relief pitcher in each league, yes Perkins would probably still be my pick. Along with Rosenthal in the NL. And not based on saves. For relievers I much prefer WPA and fangraphs "Shut Down/Melt Down" stats.

I have a feeling AL 2nd base is going to be Infante, Altuve, and Kipnis. Which will force Yost to take Bogaerts at shortstop to give the Red Sox a representative. Wait, it's the All Star Game, he'll probably justify taking Uehara or something.

How is it not Kipnis?

What's Billy Beane have to do with the best second baseman getting a hit every day for like three weeks? (He has 3 tonight.)

I think it's very clear. That's Kipnis one advantage getting on base at a really high rate. Didn't think it would offend a tiger fan lol

Dozier hits for more power, more RBI, more runs. Better base runner and arguably a slightly better defender though they are basically dead even there.

8 more runs and 5 more RBI. Yes Dozier has more power, but Kipnis has him by 85 points in BA and 82 points in OBP. He's clearly been better offensively. You said they were even defensively (debatable) and why do you think Dozier is a better baserunner? None of that would make up the offensive gap anyway.

All he does is get on base at a really high rate? Hahaha. You say that like its bad. He's leading the league in hits and doubles.

You want him to hit more solo homers and start striking out? Like Dozier. He has more SBs than Dozier and only 5 less RBI.

Well I wouldn't exactly say that his 10 stolen bases and 5 caught stealing is a positive note. Still doesn't make up for the gap at the plate.

He just over took dozier by 1 double lol.

Even with all of doziers solo homers he's still driving in more and scoring more by getting on base considerably less. Why? Because he gets extra base hits like crazy and is a steller base runner taking their extra bag.

And now you act like Dozier is some massive strike out guy

And since when is hitting a solo homer a bad thing? You score to win game correct? Idk when the last team to win a game that didn't score was, do you know?

6 to 2 for Dozier doesn't exactly blow me away either.

I like Dozier. Just can't see how anyone could justify voting for him to start the AS Game.

If it wasn't a Twin you'd have a different stance.

Go vote for him where it matters.

I don't care to vote. He gets in he gets in.

Just weird a kitty kat fan was offended with they way I labeled the poll.

I mean Dozier doesn't only hit long balls(all though much more than any other 2B since 2013).

Offended by the thread label?

I just want you to admit you're being a homer.
