Stop with the Texas talk. That is just silly. There is a chance that 4-5 true freshmen start on offense. They are still too young to consistently compete at the highest levels.

lot more history than the last 5 years. The prior 50 would argue for experience at QB. It a nice little run, but the theory flies in the face of logic.
2015 Alabama (1st year starter)
2014 Ohio State (1st year starter)
2013 FSU (1st year starter)
2011 Alabama (1st year starter)
2010 Aubu*n (1st year thug)
Yes, you have to go back to Tim Tebow in 2008 to find a national championship that didn't come with a 1st year starter, unless you count AJ McCarron who won back to back after winning it his 1st year and 2nd year. But, he came up short in his 3rd year.
I absolutely agree that it's a short, recent window, but regardless, more often than not over the past decade, that has been the case, so still good 'Food for Thought'
Screw it -- I'll say Texas.
LOUISVILLE
I picked them in January, so I'll stick with them now.
It would be a bad look if either of those teams made it in for the SEC/ACC.
Bama/LSU/Ole Miss/Tenn are significantly more talented than Arkansas, especially on offense with everything Arkansas lost. Same goes with FSU/Clemson and Louisville.
Sure, I get you. I was just saying if it got to the point that either of those teams actually did get to the playoff, it would've likely meant a really down year for those two respective conferences. Those are my dark horse picks. They don't have to "be good looks" for a conference.

just my drank prediction so don't take it too seriously.

If Charlie has a great QB lined up with a new offense, Texas might be hard to beat.
If he brings out Heard, all bets are off.

I really have to say Washington has a great chance. The PAC is wide open. Stanford is replacing a ton, including a 4-year starter at QB. Oregon is a question mark, as well. Washington was a young, talented team last year who returns a ton. If they get through the Pac 12 with 1 loss, I can see them being right there near the top 4 at the end.
They also have a really good young RB. Definitely agree that if the offense progresses, they're in great shape.Washington just checks the boxes. We know they will have a defense, which is huge in the PAC. They have a QB that appears to have NFL talent. If the offense takes a step, they are a legit threat.
Even if Buechele ends up breaking all the records at Texas, I doubt he will be great his true freshman year. I am hoping for mediocre to solid
We just need our QB to be like Bama's QB. don't need him to be great, just manage the game, turnaround and hand the ball off to our badass RB's, complete a 5 - 10 yard pass every now and then to get a first down. With a competent offensive line and OC, I believe even Heard can do this.
