I can't imagine disliking Aaron. Personally, I love Clemente as a person and as a force for good (philanthropy), but unless it is a greenie thing with Hank, he seems to have been a great player and ambassador for the game.

It seems you would rather not elaborate on your feelings about HA. I will respect that.

Naturally, these are personal opinions of mine...

Everyone that challenges his precious HR Record (Bonds and A-Rod), all of a sudden are personally attacked. Also, he appears rather arrogant.

Well, Bonds and Arod are cheating Pond Scum. If you hold those guys in higher esteem than the Hammer, it is obvious there is nothing more to discuss here.

Lol at calling Aaron arrogant and the "all of a sudden" attacks on the cheaters Aroid and Bariod as you have opined about. Bonds is probably one of the biggest arrogant jerks to ever play the game.

Henry Aaron, by every account I have seen or read and by anyone that played with/against him (on the record), has labeled him a true gentleman and one of the best ambassadors of baseball the game has ever seen.

P.S. Maris and Aaron are the true HR record holders. Almost anyone that matters in baseball believes this as well.

Clearly it could be argued somehow that Clemente was a more philanthropic human being, but to paint Aaron as arrogant and perhaps lacking in "class" is absolutely ridiculous.

I think most baseball fans (of a certain age) would basically think of Aaron's HR record as precious as well.

If I am wrong, I look forward to Hooplans explaining to me where I went off track.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Braves icon under your name.

Kinda funny to look back and see someone calling out Trout, maybe the most milquetoast superstar the game has ever seen, for being a douche. Especially in comparison to Harper, maybe the douchiest douche that ever douched up the game.

I'm guessing it's because Voltaire's racist and Aaron is darker.

I'm guessing being a Rangers fan in Trouts division didn't help. It is funny though because Harper ended up basically defining douche bag with his life.

Harper: 35.4 WAR in 4984 PA
Trout: 76.1 WAR in 5619 PA

Crazy. Harper's still been a very good (if inconsistent) player, but Trout could go down as a top 10 player of all-time.

Trout just passed First ballot HOFer Paul Molitor in career WAR.

He's not even 30 yet.

The mind boggles.

Molitor had more than double the plate appearances as well. Barring injury he'll likely pass Pete Rose (79.6 in 15890 PA) and Joe DiMaggio (79.1 in 7672 PA) this year.

Barring injury, he's definitely catching Dimaggio and Rose before he turns 30 in August, Should catch Griffey Jr by the end of the season.

Damn.
