Yea, you can't let Bobrovsky sit after Tuesday's performance. That would be 2 more days to let it eat away at him. Let Doosh start in Minnesota.

I don't think either goalie was totally at fault for last nights debacle it was like a 1980's shootout! Every puck bounced the way of the forward and face it there were some unstoppable shots. I think the Flyers team as a whole got a little cocky after going up 2 goals and it left the door open for the bolts to keep coming back...good lesson learned I hope.

Id love to know Lavi's reasoning for starting Bob last night and not giving him a rest after the 3-0 loss to the Habs

I think they wanted to see how Bob responded after a tough loss. Unfortunately, that game last night was a horror for whomever was in net...

It's time to win another game. This is getting ridiculous. We've set ourselves up to potentially sink into a long losing streak here with two straight losses and a few tough games ahead. I'm really curious as to what will happen in the next two games in particular. These are games against two teams that we've had some trouble against in the regular season and recent, hard-fought losses have added some fuel to that fire. It should be fun to watch if nothing else, but I want to win these two games badly.

Sounds like they're going with Bouch tonight from the game convo board...I have mixed emotions as Bouch didn't look to shit hot Thur either. Hopefully he brings his A game or the caps will take advantage. At least the Flyers are rested this time around.

I think now you have to start giving Bouch (or Leighton when healthy and playing well) the start in all back to back scenarios. Despite giving up a soft goal or two tonight, that's all he gave up. He made a number of solid saves in the first period to hold us in it and then the offense finally came to life throughout the second and third periods. You have to think it's tough for the backup to stay sharp if he's only getting one start every three weeks.

If you keep riding Bob for 10-12 straight starts at a time, you're going to burn him out. It will obviously be interesting to see where Leighton will fit into all of this. You don't expect that he will be able to step right into the starter role right away. That opportunity may not come for a long time or ever.

I'm with Mav. To keep Bob fresh and the backup semi game ready, Lavy must slip Leighton in every 8-9 game or so.

>> Curious to see how sharp Bob is against the Wild.

I don't think Bob has ever played more than 45 games in a season if I remember correctly. He was 9-22-3 last year and he is only 22. I hope they give the backups at least 25 starts this year. Our team is good enough to keep their stars somewhat rested throughout the season.

As much as I wanted Bob to start against les habs everyone is right Bob can't be overused. The D is good enough to protect whomever is in net so the starter shouldn't play in any back to backs. But I think Lavy loves to play his goalies in streaks if hot so I doubt this will happen. Wouldn't surprise me if Bouch plays on Wed too since he's winning...although I disagree the young guy prob thinks he's been sent back to Siberia...haha!

There are five back to back scenarios just between now and the end of December, so our backup should play at least once a week during this stretch. I am also not at all concerned about who is in net on any given night, although it is clear that Bob has grabbed the starting role based on his stats alone. You can't argue with the 11-3-1 record, 2.29 gaa and .925 sv %. There are only five or six starting goalies in the Nhl at the absolute most that have performed better to this date. He's been out of action for a week and is still tied for second in wins. It's all fairly impressive.

Our defense is solid and healthy. None of them should get overworked and the same goes for the forwards too. None of our defensemen average over 22:54 and none of our forwards over 19:18. Meszaros and O'Donnell are a combined +29 only 22 games in. That is some ridiculous depth. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find it on any other team in the Nhl. There's no reason why anyone shouldn't be able to go full speed all game long in all zones and in every single game.
