I think if the coach employs a system that isnt fan friendly it should be accounted. Like I said, just my opinion...

Heres the thing. The fans (and not "fans" you're talking about) come to the games. The upper level, the seats the real fans can afford, are always full. And by real fans I mean Devils fans. Not Rangers fans, not Philly fans, not Islander fans, and not the causal fan that only showed up to the game because their buddy has an extra ticket. The Devils fanbase is pretty much just starting, the team has only been around since 1982, just 29 years. Before that people in NJ, if they were hockey fans, already had their teams to cheer for and more than likely their offsprings are cheering for those teams now.

Lemaire has won two Jack Adams already in "boring fashion", so I don't see what style of play has to do with anything. Dave Tippett is even worse. If you want to make that your "opinionated comment", fine, but it mostly looks like an unnecessary cheap shot at the Devils coach. Then putting "fans" in quotations... give me a break. Devils have poor attendance, we all know that. Maybe you didn't intend for your post to come across as a low blow, but it looks like one big cheap nut punch to Devils fans to me.

I said it was my opinion, nothing more nothing less. The quotes were regarding the fans that come out when teams are doing well. I didnt want to lump true fans in with these folks.

Why does Trotz always get praised for this while Ruff doesn't? If you look at these two teams closely, they are practically the same team. Both teams don't really have "star" players, but they win games mostly due to strong goaltending.

The Sabres however have a slightly better offense than the Preds, but the Preds have a slightly better defense than the Sabres.

I think Babcock deserves credit for what he's done this year. The Wings have had a ton of injuries to many of their best players & haven't missed a beat. Will he win it? Probably not.

Will he win it? No. Finalist? Not likely. But Alain Vigneault deserves some credit. To have the best record in the league after all the injuries to our blueline and now Malhotra, that's pretty impressive, IMO.
